How to transfer your GTA Online character to PS5 & Xbox Series X
Thanks to a post by Rockstar Games that detailed what's to come for GTA V on new-gen consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X, we now know how to transfer GTA Online characters to the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
In order for players to transfer their GTA Online character to the PS5 or the Xbox Series X, all they have to do is utilize the Rockstar Games Social Club.
To begin the process, players need to enter GTA V on their current console (PS4 or Xbox One) account and go to the Game tab of the Pause Menu. From there, they'll have to select the Upload Save Game option.
It's worth noting that players can only store one game save per platform at a time. So for players who utilize both of the consoles, their saves will remain available for download for 90 days.
Additionally, players will also be able to transfer their Story Mode characters as well. In order to do it, all they'll have to do is repeat the same actions they'll have to do for their Online characters.
GTA V and GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S will have a new graphics offering that brings the game up to 4k resolution and 60 frames per second. In addition to that, Rockstar has also confirmed that players can expect draw distance and texture upgrades, HDR options, ray tracing, faster loading times, 3D audio, and platform-specific features like advanced haptic feedback.
For those wanting to see their characters in all of their HD glory, players will be able to begin preloading the game on March 8, 2022, with the game being available digitally on March 15, 2022.
As for those who want to get a physical copy of GTA V for the PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, they'll have to wait until sometime in April most likely, as a specific release date has yet to be announced.
