The long-awaited release of EA Sports PGA Tour is nearly over, but not before another short delay to the launch of the new game.
We are still yet to see confirmation of a cover athlete, with the Road to the Masters and the famous Augusta course donning the standard edition cover.
We do expect a specific cover athlete for at least one edition of the game, but time is running out for the announcement to be made.
Cover Athlete
In previous EA golf titles, we have seen both Tiger Woods and Rory McIlory as the cover athlete with both at the absolute peak of their powers at the time.
Woods is a definite no for EA Sports PGA Tour as he is the cover athlete of PGA 2K23, and is an exclusive athlete to that franchise.
McIlroy would be an ideal contender given his current form, but there has been no sign of the Northern Irishman in the build-up to launch.
Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm are the two other PGA Tour players up the top of the rankings currently, and the American is set to feature in the game.

Jordan Spieth is another US star that could feature, and only the PGA Championship eludes Spieth from winning all four Majors, although he placed an agonizing 2nd back in 2015.
Spieth's success and popularity make him an obvious candidate for cover athlete, and a PGA Championship win would add him to an exclusive list of players to win the full house.
There are several high-profile golfers that have made the switch to LIV Golf, effectively ending their chance of being included in the game, let alone as the cover athlete.
This includes 2022 Open Champion Cam Smith, former world number one Dustin Johnson, and long-hitter Bryson DeChambeau.
Confirmed Roster
The full EA Sports PGA Tour roster is yet to be revealed, but we do know of three players that are included in the game.
Justin Spieth has featured heavily in the limited content released so far, so we know he is involved and this points towards his potential role as the cover athlete.

Tony Finau and Danielle Kang have also been shown off in various imagery in the lead-up to the release of EA Sports PGA Tour.
Reigning Masters champion Scheffler also featured in a showcase of the gameplay, so he will also be in this year's game.
Confirmed players for EA Sports PGA Tour:
- Justin Spieth
- Tony Finau
- Danielle Kang
- Scottie Scheffler
