We are just a day away from the Genshin Impact 2.1 update and miYoHo gave us a teaser for what is coming; announcing Thoma as the next playable character!
We have witnessed amazing characters arriving in Genshin Impact from Inazuma. It's natural to have high expectations for upcoming characters, and Thoma is certainly no different.
Thoma will be part of Genshin Impact 2.2 upgrade, that will arrive six weeks after the release of the 2.1 patch. We can expect 2.2 to be live in mid-October.
Thoma, most likely will be the 4-star new character arriving in the upcoming update.
There is no confirmation yet if we are receiving the reruns of Ganyu and Albedo or if miHoYo will release Yae Miko instead.
Who is Thoma?
Thoma was born in Mondstadt and now lives in Inazuma, where he is the Kamisato Clan's housekeeper. He's also a well-known "fixer" in Inazuma.
He has managed to set a network of allies and people respect him for his abilities to negotiate and take care of Kamisato Ayaka.
Thoma was designated by the Vision Hunt Decree to set an example as the 100th person to have his vision removed.
Baal, the electro archon herself was designated to remove the vision from Thoma, however the traveler intervened. Now both are fugitives in Tenryou Commission's eyes; the army that is lead by Kujou Sara.
Thoma Weapon, Pyro Polearm
With the addition of Thoma, Genshin Impact will have three pyro polearm users: Xiangling and Hu Tao as the first two to join the game.
Thoma will be the second Pole Arm wielder in Inazuma, after Baal the electro archon.
We already know the role that Thoma is playing in the Archon Story, siding with the rebellion against the Vision Hunt Decree. However, we are yet to know his abilities as a playable character.
The pyro element is the strongest in the game, with great resonance stats and the strongest reactions. For this reason, we believe he will find place in many team compositions.
Project Celestia recently leaked Thoma's constellations from the Genshin Impact 2.2 Beta.
These are subject to change before release, but the image above shows what they currently are.
