LATEST - Fortnite struggles as Epic Games offer three free games
If you're looking for something to do this weekend, you might have to wait a little while as Epic Games sorts out the Epic Games Store and Fortnite. It looks like there are a few issues at the moment due to the fact that Epic Games has thrown three free games at us to see out its Holiday Sale offerings.
As of 11am EST on December 30th, Fortnite is experiencing login issues preventing players from getting in. It seems players that were already logged in are still able to use matchmaking as normal, though Epic may bring servers down entirely to deal with the login issues soon.
Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider are all avialable from now until January 6th at 13:00 EST / 16:00 GMT.
This shouldn't be an issue to the same extent as yesterday's issues, but it might develop into that. So... Keep an eye on Fortnite Status for the latest and we'll make sure we keep you updated.
Fortnite Server Problems - December 29th
Fortnite servers are currently down while experiencing technical difficulties that are keeping players offline.
These issues first began at roughly 11am EST, and have been ongoing for several hours with a few brief moments of stability in-between.
Originally it was suspected the server issues could be in connection with the Epic Games Store free game being revealed, however the extended downtime suggests something more internal is the issue for the recent Fortnite server issues. Epic has since taken Fortnite servers down entirely to figure out the stability issues.
With Epic's team on the case, we expect Fortnite servers will be back online soon enough, though this current downtime has gone on much longer than typical server problems for the massive BR.
In the meantime, we'll update you with all the latest Fortnite server news as it arrives.
