FIFA 23 Serie A POTM - Napoli marksman claims January award & brilliant SBC card

The first month of the new year has been and gone in a flash, so it's time to assess which Serie A star has claimed POTM award in FUT 23.

EA has now officially revealed the winner of the Player of the Month award, with the recipient handed an incredible 88 OVR POTM SBC item in Ultimate Team.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is this month's Serie A POTM!

The 24-year-old managed to net five goals in five matches as well as registering one assist in the league in January.

Osimhen has been given an 88-rated POTM card that boasts 95 pace, 88 shooting, 86 physicality and 84 dribbling.

January Nominees

The EA Sports FIFA Twitter account recently revealed the official Serie A January POTM five-man shortlist.

The January Player of the Month nominees are as follows:

  • Paulo Dybala
  • Lautaro Martinez
  • Ademola Lookman
  • Luis Alberto
  • Victor Osimhen

Top contenders

Osimhen came out on top in the end, but there were several outstanding Serie A performers throughout January.

Paulo Dybala (OVR 89)

Four direct goal contributions in five matches put Paulo Dybala's name among the five-man shortlist for this month's award.

The Argentine playmaker managed to score two goals and register two assists in a month where Roma won three, drew one and lost one.

Lautaro Martinez (OVR 88)

Lautaro Martinez has returned from the 2022 World Cup in fine form. The Inter Milan striker netted four goals in five matches during January.

His club side picked up three wins from five last month and a couple of candidates were always ahead of him in the running for the POTM award.

Ademola Lookman (OVR 85)

Ademola Lookman is on fire at the moment. Five goals and two assists in four appearances made the winger one of the favourites to win the award this month.

Atalanta managed to go unbeaten during January too, winning two matches and drawing the rest, picking up eight points from a possible twelve.

Luis Alberto (OVR 87)

Spanish central midfielder Luis Alberto has been simply outstanding for Lazio over the first few weeks of the 2023 calendar year.

The 30-year-old, unfortunately, missed out on the January Player of the Month award this time.
