FIFA 18: Ultimate Team Ratings Refresh predictions

Now that the January transfer window is over, we can look ahead to the league run-ins in Europe. Players are hitting their stride, and their performances may now warrant a ratings boost on FIFA Ultimate Team.

Fans themselves could decide who deserves a ‘Ratings Refresh’ by filling out an online form. We look at the top 10 players who could become even more dangerous on Ultimate Team.

Kevin De Bruyne (OVR 89 – 91)

Seemingly on course for the Premier League Player of the Season award, Kevin De Bruyne is the catalyst in this phenomenal Manchester City team. The attacking midfielder has scored 10 goals and assisted a further 14 in all competition this season, and it's almost inevitable that the Belgian will have a PL winners’ medal around his neck come May.

De Bruyne will likely receive an increase of two overall points to a 91 rating on Ultimate Team. His normal 89 card costs 189,000 coins on PS4 and 175,000 on Xbox One whereas he 90 central midfield in form rating is priced at 618,000 on PS4 and 585,000 on Xbox One. The 26-year-old also has a 91 ‘Team of the Group Stage’ card which will set you back 750,000 coins on PS4 and 730,000 on Xbox One. His Team of the Year 90 rating is worth 1.9 million coins on PS4 and 1.8 million on Xbox One.

Harry Kane (OVR 86 – 88)

Goals. Goals. Goals. That's what Harry Kane is all about. The Tottenham striker has bagged 30 goals in as many games this season, with his 21 league goals making him the top scorer in the Premier League and joint-top in in the race for the European Golden Boot.

England frontman Kane deserves a two-point overall increase to 88 at least, with his normal 86 card costing around 32,000 coins on both consoles. An 87 in form rating is priced at 355,000 coins on PS4 and 386,000 on Xbox One, and his 88 Team of the Group Stage item will cost you 367,000 on PS4 and 426,000 on Xbox One. His 89 TOTW card is valued at 545,000 coins on PS4 and 590,000 on Xbox One, and his 96 Team of the Year rating will cost a massive 1.6 million coins on PS4 and 1.5 million on Xbox One.

Lorenzo Insigne (OVR 85 – 87)

Napoli currently lead Serie A, with Lorenzo Insigne the star man this season. The 26-year-old has scored 10 goals and assisted eight more and the club have only lost five matches in all competitions so far this season. Left winger Insigne has formed a deadly frontline with teammates Dries Mertens and Jose Callejon, making them a match for any defence in the world.

Insigne’s 85 overall rating should also go up by two to 87, with his current card costing 11,250 coins on PS4 and 10,500 on Xbox One. The Italian also has an 86 in form rating, priced at 68,000 on PS4 and 64,500 on Xbox One

Mauro Icardi (OVR 84 – 86)

Staying in Italy, Mauro Icardi could become the first non-Juventus player in seven years to win the Serie A Footballer of the Year prize. The Argentine striker has scored 18 goals in 22 league matches so far this season as he looks to secure a World Cup place this summer whilst facing competition from compatriots Sergio Aguero, Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.

The 84 rating should rise to at least 86 in the Ratings Refresh, and his current card on Ultimate Team is available for around 4,000 coins on both consoles. His 86 in form will cost just under 50,000 coins on PS4 and 46,250 on Xbox One, with his 87 super in form priced at 66,000 on PS4 and 63,000 on Xbox One.

Mohamed Salah (OVR 83 – 85)

The signing of the summer, Mohamed Salah has backed up his £37 million move to Liverpool with 26 goals and nine assists in 33 games so far this season. The former Roma man has given defences a torrid time when coming in from the right wing, and with Philippe Coutinho heading for Barcelona, Salah is now the star player at Anfield.

Salah is likely to receive a ratings boost of at least two to 85, with his normal 83 card priced at 2,800 coins on both consoles. His 85 rated right midfielder Hero item will cost 187,000 coins on PS4 and 180,000 on Xbox One, and his 86 in form striker card valued at 330,000 on PS4 and 313,000 on Xbox One. His Ones to Watch card currently stands at 86 and is worth 385,000 coins on PS4 and 380,000 on Xbox One.

Ciro Immobile (OVR 82 – 85)

26 goals in 25 games is some return for Ciro Immobile. The Lazio striker has also added 12 assists along the way, meaning his side sit third in the Serie A table. With the club holding a five point gap inside the Champions League places and still going strong in the cup competitions, Lazio and Immobile can really make something of this season.

The former Borussia Dortmund forward should see his 82 overall rating jump up to 85 on Ultimate Team after all those goals, with his current price at 1,500 coins on PS4 and 1,300 on Xbox One. Immobile’s 84 in form card will cost you just 50,000 coins on PS4 and 46,250 on Xbox One, his 86 super in form will set you back 149,000 on PS4 and 125,000 on Xbox One.

Nabil Fekir (OVR 82 – 84)

Lyon may not be challenging PSG for the title, but Nabil Fekir has still showed his quality this season. The attacking midfielder has scored 19 goals and recorded five assists in 27 games this season, which could cause interest from the big European clubs in the summer.

Lyon skipper Fekir has an 82 rating on Ultimate Team, which should creep up to 84. His normal card costs 1,200 coins on PS4 and 1,100 on Xbox One, with his 84 in form valued at 65,000 on PS4 and 58,000 on Xbox One. Lastly, the Frenchman also has an 86 super in form costing 150,000 coins on PS4 and 135,000 on Xbox One.

Joshua Kimmich (OVR 81 – 84)

Joshua Kimmich has emerged as one of the best right backs in the world this season. The 22-year-old has kept 13 clean sheets in the Bayern Munich defence, but has also contributed going forward with 11 assists and three goals. Expect the youngster to shine at the World Cup in Russia this summer with Germany.

Kimmich’s 81 overall rating should now rise to a very strong 84. His normal card is currently priced at just 1,000 coins on both consoles, with his 84 in form rating costing 90,500 coins on PS4 and 70,000 on Xbox One. The defender’s 86 super in form will set you back 120,000 on PS4 and just over 100,000 on Xbox One, and you will need 225,000 on PS4 and 204,000 on Xbox One for his 87 ‘Team of the Group Stage’ item.

Jesse Lingard (OVR 78 – 80)

Few would have given Jesse Lingard a chance at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho, but the midfielder has become a regular feature at Old Trafford this season. The England international has netted 12 times and added five assists this season, eight of those coming in the space of five weeks.

Expect Lingard’s 78 rating to go up to 80 on Ultimate Team, and his right midfielder position should switch to attacking midfield. You currently need just 600 coins on both consoles to snap him up, but 60,000 on PS4 and 66,000 on Xbox One for his 82 in form card.

Leon Bailey (OVR 76 – 81)

The biggest boost in the ratings refresh could go to Leon Bailey. The Bayer Leverkusen left midfielder has become one of the stars in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 10 goals and setting up five more for his teammates. It may not be long before the Jamaican joins a massive European club.

Bailey's 76 rating on Ultimate Team could climb up by five overall points to 81, so expect his new card to cost a lot more than his current price of 1,100 coins on both consoles. His 81 in form rating is priced at 28,000 coins on PS4 and 29,000 on Xbox One, with an 84 super in form costing 79,000 on PS4 and 75,000 on Xbox One.
