One of Destiny 2's premiere PvP events, Iron Banner, is finally back!
Taking over Trials of Osiris for a week is the return of Iron Banner and now that the new-look event has undergone several appearances, players will know what to expect. As always, it'll still bring on the extensive multiplayer PvP experience players know and love and, of course, it'll reward them accordingly.
Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Iron Banner, including its release time, new changes, and rewards.
Iron Banner Release Time
Destiny 2's Iron Banner returns on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, and finishes a week later on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, taking over Trials of Osiris for the time being.
Instead of the event running once a month, now it'll be available twice a season, making it more in line with other annual events. This will be its second and last appearance for Season of Plunder. It will be live in-game at 1 pm EST on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, allowing players to participate in the all-out PvP fun.

Iron Banner Release (November 5)
This will be the final Iron Banner event for Season of Plunder. This means that it might not reappear until the next season or the next expansion, Lightfall.
What is Iron Banner in Destiny 2?
Iron Banner is an event in the Crucible that appears twice a season. Like Trials of Osiris, it's one of the marquee PvP events in Destiny 2 and offers unique armor and weapons. As always, it arrives at the weekly reset and leaves during the following.
Season of the Haunted's Iron Banner event was Rift, a Destiny 1 mode that had players score a Spark in the enemy goal. For Season of Plunder, however, Iron Banner's event will be Eruption. Here, upon getting kills, players grow in power, entering a "Prime" state whereupon kills grant additional points but destroy the Guardian after 15 seconds.
Iron Banner Rewards
Ever since its introduction to the game, Iron Banner has always had the same rewards each month, which included armor, weapons, and cosmetics. However, due to the change, that is no longer the case.
Iron Banner's rewards are being changed for their second appearance in Season of Plunder and two of them will be removed.
Here are the two rewards that are being removed:
- Peacebond – Legendary Sidearm
- Archon’s Thunder – Legendary Machine Gun
Additionally, here are other rewards Guardians can possibly look forward to.
- Iron Forerunner
- Allied Demand Stasis Sidearm
- Roar of the Bear Solar Rocket Launcher
- The Wizened Rebuke Arc Fusion Rifle
- The Hero's Burden Void Submachine Gun
- Razor's Edge Void Sword
