Warzone Pacific: What makes Vanguard Royale different from standard modes?

Vanguard Royale is a new playlist coming to Warzone in the Warzone Pacific update and there's a lot of chatter about what this actually means. You're still going to be able to use Modern Warfare weapons in Warzone, but there's a playlist that's going to limit Warzone's weapons to the newest batch. That isn't all, though... Here's everything you need to know about what Vanguard Royale is and what the difference is between it and the standard playlists.

Raven Software has confirmed all the changes coming to the Warzone experience in the Vanguard Royale playlist and it's more than just limiting the weapons - here's a quick-fire list of what's going to be available and what isn't.

As you can see in the image above, the Supply Choppers and Juggernaut Public Events are also going to be disabled for the Vanguard Royale playlist.

VANGUARD ROYALE - What's the difference?

The core gameplay you know and love isn't changing, but Vanguard Royale is going to be a playlist that focuses exclusively on the new Vanguard content in Warzone.

Call of Duty has outlined the three major differences between Vanguard Royale and the standard battle royale playlists available in Warzone. They are...

• Trains, Planes, and Automobiles
  • New Vanguard vehicles, including Fighter Planes, are going to be available.

  • " Fly fighter planes that rain down fire on foes or head for the AA guns or trucks to shoot them out of the skies. There are also other ground-based vehicles, including a Squad Transport all-terrain car that will help your squad cut through and around the island."

• Only the new hardware!
  • Only newly-added Vanguard weapons are available to use in this mode.

  • " Loadouts can only contain Vanguard weaponry, streamlining the meta for more accessibility and room for experimentation. Expect all weapons around the island to also be from Vanguard. Operator selection is also limited to Vanguard soldiers."

• Fast and furious gameplay
  • Circle Collapse changes and more in-game events and items.

  • " The radii and times for Circle Collapses are altered to offer a different pace of play, especially with dogfighting overhead. Also, expect an in-game event at each Circle Collapse, Bombing Runs, and different items both within Caldera’s overworld and contract rewards."

Caldera is going to be the only map available on December 9th, but Rebirth Island will be back before too long. In addition to this, standard battle royale playlists should be available throughout. Featured Playlists like Plunder and Resurgence should also show their face throughout Season One - but expect at least a week of pure Caldera action without any frills or additional rulesets.
