Apex Legends Xbox Series X & PS5 Release Time: Next-gen updates coming today

You've been able to play Apex Legends on PS5 and Xbox Series X since the consoles launched, but we've been waiting for official next-gen upgrades for a while. With the Warriors Collection Event that's coming this week, the next-gen versions of Apex Legends are finally out. We have all the release time details for Apex Legends on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Apex Legends PS5 & Xbox Series X Update Release Time

In the offical announcement tweet from Respawn, they said "The Warriors Collection Event will bring next-gen versions of Apex Legends to PS5 and XSX!"

While that doesn't explicitly say the release time, we can work out when it will be.

Apex Legends Collection Events always go live at 1pm ET/6pm GMT on the day they start.

Therefore, the release time of Apex Legends on PS5 and Xbox Series X should be 1pm ET/6pm GMT on March 29.

The new version of the game should be live for you to download at that time.

How to Upgrade & Download on Next-Gen

If you're looking to download Apex Legends on PS5 or Xbox Series X as soon as it is live, you'll have to follow a few steps.

On Xbox Series X, the new version of the game will download automatically via Smart Delivery, so you don't have to do anything.

On PlayStation 5, to upgrade your Apex Legends versions, you'll need to head to the Apex Legends hub on the PS Store and select the options icon on the right of 'Play Game' or 'Download'.

Then, choose 'Select Version' and pick the new PS5 version of Apex Legends. Once it's downloaded, you'll be able to delete the PS4 version you already had installed.
