CM Punk confirmed as in AEW Fight Forever but off the cover

AEW Fight Forever unveiled a new trailer recently, but it's a separate potential leak which has pushed the company to confirm a few key details.

Here's everything we know so far about that status of CM Punk being on the AEW Fight Forever roster and the cover.

CM Punk confirmed for AEW Fight Forever roster

The most significant recent news for AEW Fight Forever came at the AEW Full Gear event when a brand-new official reveal trailer debuted.

The new look at the game highlighted several newly confirmed members of the AEW Fight Forever roster including champions Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Orange Cassidy.

However, speculation went rampant when a final shot from the trailer seemed to suggest the previously revealed AEW Fight Forever cover had been changed.

The new design featured many of the same superstars from before in addition to some new ones, and one notable absence with CM Punk.

Following a supposed Reddit leak of marketing sleeves for AEW Fight Forever, Sportskeeda reached out directly to AEW and got confirmation on several major details.

For fans who were worried about CM Punk being playable in the game, AEW confirmed that he has not been removed from the AEW Fight Forever roster.

"AEW representatives told Sportskeeda that if anyone already shown to be a part of the game needed to be removed, they would make an announcement to the fans," the exclusive by Sportskeeda explained. "They further stated that they expect all characters revealed to be in the game."

AEW Fight Forever cover stars and rating also confirmed

As far as the supposedly leaked marketing sleeves go, Sportskeeda also explained that AEW "said that the cover art shown was used as a placeholder for a long time."

They then confirmed that the "official cover is featured in the latest trailer," meaning that the final frame of the AEW Fight Forever reveal trailer, seen below, is indeed their new cover.

NEW LOOK: We now know this will be the official AEW Fight Forever cover art

This officially confirms Kenny Omega dead-center as the focal point, but the AEW Fight Forever cover also includes: Jade Cargill, Sting, Orange Cassidy, Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Jon Moxley, "Hangman" Adam Page, and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

The other detail some fans noticed on the Reddit post was that it showed an ESRB rating of M for Mature, but they had already confirmed it as T for Teen in the Official Reveal Trailer.

Further debunking the apparent leak, Fightful's Will Washington reached out to AEW and got additional confirmation of the T for Teen rating.
