Will Tua Tagovailoa play against the Cincinnati Bengals?

The Miami Dolphins have been one of the surprise packages of the 2022 NFL season so far, as they remain the only side in the AFC without an L on their record so far this year.

Mike McDaniel's side will be looking to maintain their perfect start to the season under the lights on Thursday night, as they travel to AFC North franchise, the Cincinnati Bengals.

The big question ahead of the prime-time clash is whether in-form QB Tua Tagovailoa will be cleared to play, after struggling with a number of injury issues throughout the week.

Here is what we know.

Will Tua Tagovailoa play against the Cincinnati Bengals?

Tua's involvement in the Thursday Night Football clash is under threat, after he was officially listed as questionable in the final injury report released ahead of the game.

The 24-year-old has been cleared of any layoff with regards to his head injury sustained against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, although he has been struggling with a back and an ankle problem in the lead-up to Week 4.

Tagovailoa did not train on Monday and took part in limited training on both Tuesday and Wednesday resulting in his listing as questionable in Wednesday's Injury Report.

What's Tua said?

Tua spoke out about his back injury during the build-up to the clash with the Bengals, suggesting that he hyperextended his back in an attempted QB sneak against the Bills:

"On the quarterback sneak, I kinda got my legs caught under someone. They were trying to push back and it felt like I hyperextended my back or something.

"On the next play, I hit my back and it kind of hurt. I got up and that's why I stumbled because my back locked up on me.

"For the most part, I'm good. I passed whatever concussion protocols they had."

Dolphins' head coach Mike McDaniel is expected to comment on whether Tua will feature in the coming hours.

If Tua can't play, former Broncos and Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater will suit up for the Dolphins.
