Will Kyrie Irving play in the 2022 NBA Playoffs?

The NBA Playoffs are just around the corner, and pre-season favourites the Brooklyn Nets have a little bit of work to do if they are to avoid the same fate as the Los Angeles Lakers.

It's been an unexpectedly tough season for the Nets, who currently occupy the eight-seed, meaning that they will have to navigate next week's NBA Play-In tournament if they are to book their place in the post-season.

Kyrie Irving will be key to any success that the Nets have this year, but will he be eligible to play in the NABA Playoffs this year?

Will Kyrie Irving play in the 2022 NBA Playoffs?

It has been a difficult season for Kyrie on a personal level, with the Brooklyn guard forced to miss the majority of the Nets' home games this season due to his COVID-19 vaccination status.

However New York City's private-sector mandate that prohibited Kyrie Irving from playing at the Barclays Centre was lifted at the end of March, meaning that Kyrie is now eligible to play in all of Brooklyn's games, whether at home or away.

The Nets appearance in the post-season isn't assured just yet, however should the New York-based side qualify for the NBA Playoffs, you can expect to see Kyrie Irving in the starting lineup for Steve Nash's side.

When is the 2022 NBA Play-In Tournament

As we've alluded to already, the Brooklyn Nets will have to navigate the 2022 NBA Play-In tournament if they are to secure themselves a place in the playoffs.

The play-in will get underway on Tuesday, April 14th, and will draw to a conclusion on Friday, April 17th.

The NBA Playoffs will begin a day later, with the first game tipping off on Saturday, April 18th.
