World No.1 Iga Swiatek will take on Jana Fett on Tuesday afternoon as she looks to kickstart her Wimbledon 2022 campaign with a win.
The Polish superstar comes into the tournament in an unstoppable vein of form and is the outright favourite to win the 2022 Women's Singles title.
While her grass court record is unconvincing, having won just four of her eight games on the surface, Swiatek has been nigh-on untouchable for the last year and will take some stopping this season.
Her first opponent will be the unknown Jana Fett, who heads into Wimbledon 2022 with minimal Grand Slam pedigree. We take a look at the Croatian's career to date.
Who is Jana Fett?
Jana Fett is a 25-year-old Croatian tennis player who currently sits 252nd in the Women's Singles world rankings. Her best career ranking was achieved in October 2017, when she peaked at 97th on the rankings.
2022 will represent Fett's second-ever Wimbledon appearance with her only other first-round outing coming in 2018. This will also be the Croatian's first Grand Slam appearance since 2018 and only her third ever, having also competed in the 2018 Australian Open, where she reached the second round.
Fett failed to make it out of the qualifying rounds for the recent French and Australian Opens, and struggled to make an impact in the Rothesay tournaments in Nottingham and Birmingham, suggesting this will be a very tough test for the Zagreb-born player.
