What is the next Formula E E-Prix?

Formula E travelled to Jakarta for the first-ever time in early June for round 9 of the world championship.

DS Techeetah secured a front-row lockout for Formula E's first rodeo around the streets of Indonesia with championship contender Jean-Eric Vergne claiming pole position ahead of his teammate and former world champion Antonio Felix Da Costa.

Two-time world champion Vergne got away well after the lights went out while his teammate Da Costa recovered from a slow start to keep the Jaguar of Mitch Evans behind heading into turn one.

Da Costa couldn't keep Evans behind for long though, locking up into turn seven and allowing the New Zealander through to attack for the lead of the race.

The Portuguese driver found himself in a three-way battle with Swiss driver Edoardo Mortara and championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne for the final podium place, but it was Rokit Venturi's Mortara that came out on top.

Vergne and Evans traded attack modes in the battle for the lead with the Kiwi hanging onto the back of Vergne's Techeetah car before making the race-winning move at turn seven with just six minutes of green flag running left to go.

A tight three-way battle to the line ensued with Mortara waiting to pick up the scraps, but Evans held off the charges as he battled last-lap rear-tire degradation to claim his third victory of the season.

Evans moves up to fourth in the Driver Standings, 12 points behind the championship leader Vandoorne. The Kiwi will be wondering how good his position would be looking if it weren't for a disastrous opening three rounds of the season.

What is the next Formula E E-Prix?

The Formula E grid now heads off for their summer break, but competition returns next month with Round 10 of the world championship scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of July.

Morocco is the venue of the next E-Prix with Formula E returning to the streets of the Agdal district for the 2022 Marrakech E-Prix.

This is the fifth time that Formula E will head to the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan with eventual champion Antonio Felix Da Costa taking home the victory last time out in 2020.
