The return of the Formula 1 season will mark the return of F2 as well as this year's talented crop of young drivers prepare for an action-packed Bahrain Grand Prix weekend.

A host of potential future stars will battle it out for the title in 2023 with Theo Pourchaire, Jack Doohan and Ayumu Iwasa the three most likely to take the crown and boost their chances of securing a seat in F1.

Here are the final qualifying results from Friday's session as the 2023 F2 season gets underway at the Sakhir International Circuit.

F2 Qualifying Results: 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix

Theo Pourchaire was the initial pacesetter on Friday afternoon as the Frenchman lived up to his billing as the title favourite with a blistering time that left him five-tenths clear of the rest of the field at the halfway stage.

And the Frenchman remained at the head of the field, pumping in one of the best laps in F2 history to finish seven-tenths clear of the rest of the field.

F2 Sprint Race Grid: 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix

With the qualifying order decided, we can now look forward to Saturday's Sprint Race.

After finishing qualifying on Friday afternoon in tenth place, Ralph Boschung will start Saturday's sprint race from the front of the grid, lining up alongside Trident driver and F2 rookie Roman Stanek.
