The next Sims 4 expansion pack is coming sooner than you think

The Sims is getting even bigger this year with a whole new expansion. As we suspected, it has something to do with the postcards fans have been receiving. Here's what you should know.

LATEST - The Sims 4 Cottage Living Out July 22nd

The sims 4 Cottage Living, the latest expansion, has just been announced.

Over on their YouTube, they had a short live stream going over some of the details and all the latest news.

Summer of Sims Announced

It's time to expand your world with Maxis and EA's Summer of Sims! Starting in May and stretching until July, The Sims 4 is going to get exciting new content and activities in the form of Game Packs, Game Updates and more.

As you might imagine, a lot of the content that's coming is going to feature "outdoors" content. It also looks like The Sims 4 is taking a leaf out of Fortnite's book by looking to foster some sort of virtual event. There's mention of a Virtual Block Party AND another mysterious "sims event of the Summer".

Expect to hear more from The Sims on Twitter and Instagram in the coming days...

When Will the Next Sims 4 Expansion Release?

The expansion will come out on July 22nd this year but can be pre-purchased right now to get some extra goodies. We likely won't see any more changes in the release date from here.

This being said, Kits were revealed back in March, a very small DLC that may push back current DLC plans. Although we have a decent idea of when things will come out, this is all subject to change, especially if The Sims 5 is announced at EA Play Live in July.

The Sims 4 Kits

The Sims 4 has so many ways to spend your money to get more out of it. From the big expansions to the slightly smaller game packs to the even smaller stuff packs, now there's something more minuscule.

Kits are essentially the smallest ways to change up your game. There are only three right now and they include the Throwback Fit Kit, the Country Kitchen Kit and the Bust The Dust Kit.

The Throwback Fit is all about retro clothes and patterns, The Country Kitchen Kit gives you vintage appliances. The Bust The Dust Kit gives a wide range of vacuums. If you've ever wanted to add those very specific things, you're in luck.
