With the NBA back in action, detailed shots of the PUMA MB.02s have emerged after LaMelo Ball wore his next signature shoes on the court during Charlottes' opening game against the Celtics this season.

However, this isn't the first time the shoes have been spotted as LaMelo was photographed wearing his new MB.02s during the 2022 NBA Media Day scrum ahead of the 2022/23 NBA tip-off.

From what we've seen so far, it looks as though Ball's latest signature sneaker closely follows the first MB.01 which is, in our opinion, one of the best basketball shoes on the market right now.

With big shoes to fill, how exactly does the MB sequel compare to the originals? We've rounded up everything we know so far to help you decide.

LaMelo Ball's PUMA MB.02 Release Date

After PUMA announced via Twitter that the MB.02s are on their way, it's now been confirmed that the sneakers are out now as of 21 October 2022 (10am EST) according to the PUMA Hoops Instagram.

We'd recommend acting fast if you're interested in picking up a pair as we've noticed LaMelo's signature sneakers sell out pretty quickly in the past.

If you're still unsure though, then perhaps a closer look at the design will help you make a decision...

LaMelo Ball's PUMA MB.02 Design

LaMelo Ball's second signature shoes are a throwback to the "Red Blast" MB.01s, the Hornets star's first sneakers with the brand.

The shoes come dressed in similar bright red tones; however, they feature a completely new fiery pattern that fades from a deeper red hue into orange around the collars and tongues.

Dark blue then provides a cold contrast to the warm base and can be found on what appears to be an updated version of LaMelo's infamous "1" logo on the tongues.

The same winged "1" can be found on the heels below Melo and PUMA co-branding. PUMA banding can also be found beneath the outsoles alongside a purple "Rare" logo in reference to one of the young basketball star's motos.

Technology-wise, the shoes feature NITRO foam-infused midsoles which have been designed to mimic LaMelo’s signature wings.

The theme extends to the woven mesh uppers combined with what PUMA refers to as multizone mixed materials for targeted support, comfort, and breathability.

Finally, you'll find a nonslip rubber compound with a feather tread pattern underneath to enhance durability and traction, making them ideal for the quick cuts and jump shots of a point guard.

LaMelo Ball's PUMA MB.02 Price

Although the price was originally kept a mystery during the initial reveal of the MB.02s, we now know how much LaMelo's next signature sneakers will cost with the shoes out now.

The MB.02s are currently listed for $130 in adult sizing; however, we're yet to see a listing for them in smaller and presumably cheaper kids' sizes just yet.
