Has GAME run out of PS5 console stock again?

Sony's next-gen hardware is undoubtedly sought-after, but has GAME run out of PS5 consoles?

GAME and other retailers have struggled to meet the high demand for PS5 units since it's launch in 2020.

Every stock update is quickly pounced upon by fans looking for the next-gen equipment and more often than not these sell out again in minutes.

Sony is struggling to produce more, but that doesn't mean it is impossible to grab one. Restock season is almost upon us!

Here's everything we know about the PS5 stock at GAME.

GAME PS5 Stock

This UK Game Retailer was the latest supplier to release an updated PS5 stock.

Earlier today, they announced that they had 10,000 new units up for sale via their website.

People could queue online and get their hands on one from 09:45 GMT today. However, they sold out in record time. Again.

The PS5 Console alone sold out within the hour and GAME were forced to urge people to check for bundle deals.

However, another hour later these were all also just snapped up.

Are Scalpers The Problem?

In short, it does seem like there is still an issue with Scalpers using bots to purchase large quantities of the limited stock.

The Express has reported that "some private accounts on Twitter" have been bragging about it being "easier every time", however, this claim shot down by GAME.

A representative told EuroGamer the following:

We have strong measures in place to help ensure that our 'one per customer' statement is maintained to allow for as many individual customers to successfully purchase as possible.

All pre-orders are subject to automatic checks and order updates such as cancellations following these checks take place after a customer will have received a valid order confirmation email.

Recently, there have been talks that Console Scalping is to become illegal under UK Law.

However, we find it hard to believe that this will change much given the fact that there are supposedly tougher measures in place each time a major scalping happens.
