Season nine of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 drops today! Titled "Hidden Alliance", Season nine will be Ubisoft's attempt at reviving the multiplayer-only shooter which hasn't had any new content since season four "End of Watch" ended on March 31st 2021, with all subsequent seasons being re-runs of the first four.
Season nine marks a shift in The Division's approach to narrative. Instead of each season exploring all 12+ of the game's explorable regions, each new season will now focus on a smaller area to make for more concentrated storytelling and less repetition

The good news for fans of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is that you don't have to wait as Season nine: Hidden Alliance Is out today!
In a post from the offcial The Division Twitter account, it was announced that The Division 2 would undergo server maintenance at 9:30 CEST, 8:30am BST, 03:30am EDT and 12:30am PDT. While we don't know when the server maintenance will be complete, what we do know is that once it is, The Division 2 season 9 "Hidden Alliance" will be live for you to enjoy.
For people who don't have The Division 2 yet and are considering giving it a try, Ubisoft will be hosting a free weekend across Xbox One, Series S|X, PS4, PS5 and PC via the Epic Games Store. The free weekend will run from Friday, May 13th 2022 to Sunday, May 15th 2022. Just in time to explore everything the new update has to offer.
A New Game Mode for the Division 2
Releasing with The Division 2 season nine is a brand new game mode by the name of Countdown.
This game mode is an eight-player co-op experience that will see players split into two teams of four. These teams will then be tasked with working together and stabilizing a power plant before the titular countdown of 15-minutes runs out, locking down the plant for good.
The Story of Season Nine Hidden Alliance
This new manhunt focuses on a new set of high-profile targets within the "True Sons" after the death of Antwon Ridgeway. Meanwhile, a new leader, Captain Lewis, descends on DC with a mission of his own.
The ideology of the True Sons has changed, with many of their more zealous members feeling alienated from the group. The goal of this is to give a range in the targets the player will be hunting down, with some more monstrous while others have a more sympathetic air to them.
The story will follow the internal struggles of the "True Sons" and aims to have a more cinematic feel, in line with the change in direction that The Division wishes to take to keep players interested.
The Division 2 Season Nine Twitch Drops
Another part of Ubisoft's attempts at keeping The Division 2's interest alive is the implementation of Twitch drops starting alongside season nine on May 12th and running until May 31st. To access Twitch drops, just watch creators who are streaming The Division 2 with drops active in their chat and hope for the best.
