With trade rumors surrounding this squad, most of the veteran players on this team must feel pretty insecure about their job security. After finishing 10th in the East, the Hornets will look to find a way out of the dreaded late lottery/fringe playoff team gray area that no NBA franchise wants to land in. Look for Kemba to lead his troops to a better season finish this year.
Kemba Walker, PG (OVR 86)
Traits: Offensive Star
Best Attributes: Ball Handling, Stamina, Acceleration
Although he’s been fairly steady, yet mediocre, Kemba is slated to have one of his stronger seasons, as predicted by many analysts. Although he barely managed 22.1 points last year, just below his overall average, he was able to keep a steady 5.3 assists, as well as shooting close to .490 in the FG%. Look for him to really kick off this season.
Jeremy Lamb, SG (OVR 78)
Traits: Premier Perimeter Threat
Best Attributes: Vertical, Layups, Ball Handling
Flying under the radar is Jeremy Lamb. Not exactly the main focus of the Hornets, he is still seen as a potential threat, especially if Kemba has an outstanding year. Barely getting into the double digits with 12.9 points averaged per game, his redeeming features would be the 4.5 rebounds per game, as well as a .513% eFG last year.
Nicolas Batum, SF (OVR 77)
Traits: Two-Way Wing
Best Attributes: Stamina, Vertical, Layups
Nicolas Batum did not have the greatest year in the 2017-2018 year. Only averaging around 11.6 points last season, down from 15.1 in the 2016-2017 year, his only redeeming feature is that his rebounds and assists are still decent, with rebounds standing at 4.8 average, and assists at 5.5 average. Don’t expect amazing things from him.
Marvin Williams, PF (OVR 76)
Traits: Offensive-Minded Four
Best stats: Layups, Speed, Stamina
As a power forward, Marvin Williams is pretty much just a stand-in until the hornets find someone better. Averaging only 9.5 points last season, he has no outstanding aspects, with just a .458 FG%, and only 1.2 assists. The one thing you can most likely count on is his 4.7 average rebounds.
Cody Zeller, C (OVR 77)
Traits: Rebounding Specialist
Best attributes: Rebounding, Vertical, Stamina
One of the younger members on the starting lineup, Cody Zeller is a decently strong floorman for the Hornets. Although his average points scored is only 7.1 in his 2017-2018 season, he was able to average 5.4 rebounds total, as well as hold a .556 FG%. Look for him to hopefully keep his team afloat during trying times on defense.
