Overwatch 2 is high on several fans' radars, and it can't come a moment too soon.
With that said, we've barely had any updates about how the game is coming along or when to potentially expect it.
The game has undergone several changes since its initial announcement, with alterations to give it more story-based content and lore deposits.
But now it seems we may be waiting even longer for the game than previously expected, if new rumors swirling around come to fruition.
Overwatch 2 Delay Rumors From Korean Genji Voice Actor
According to Genji's Korean voice actor Gaku Space, Blizzard has not even started working on Overwatch 2 in earnest.
The Korean voice actor claims that he has allegedly not begun recording new lines of dialogue for Genji for Overwatch 2.
According to an interview translated by Reddit user Evenstar6132, Space indicated that he hadn't been up to date on happenings with the game.
“Yeah, I’m still working on Overwatch, but I haven’t heard anything about Overwatch 2,” Space told the interviewer with the publication PlayersCUT.
"What's going on, Blizzard? I'm not fired, am I?" asked Space.
Overwatch 2 Release Date Rumors, Delays, and Player Concerns
Blizzard announced that Overwatch had been in the early stages of development back during BlizzCon 2019.
Since then, there's been no major release updates or a date given.
Now that 2020 has come and gone, it seems unlikely that 2021 will find Overwatch 2 hitting store shelves either, especially if work hasn't actually begun.
From the game's first trailer "Zero Hour," we know the game will have some visual updates for heroes, as well as additional story-based gameplay.
But we still don't know much about what else the game will entail or how much is complete just yet.
As such, players are concerned they won't see Overwatch 2 for some time.
If Genji's Korean voice actor is to be believed, we could be in for quite a wait when it comes to Blizzard's next Overwatch 2 update, let alone a final release date.
