Old Saves Will Work In Diablo 2: Resurrected

Gamers that played the original Diablo 2 back in the day won't have to restart the game when the remastered version is released.

Blizzard managed to accidentally include the ability to use old save files in the new game.

CLASSIC: Diablo 2 remains a beloved game

In an interview with IGN Middle East, the game's producer Matthew Cederquist explained how the happy accident happened.

"Back when we were working on [the remaster], we wondered if the old save files would work and we kind of shoved it in and it worked! And we were like, ‘okay, that’s the best feature ever,'" Cederquist said. This means players will be able to pick up where they left off if they still have access to the files, with all of the audiovisual upgrades exclusive to the remaster in tow."

It is unlikely that many people will have 20-year-old save files still on their system, but if they do then they can pick up where they left off.
