What Are Versus Battles in Clash of Clans?

In this article, we'll be going into more detail about one of the games' most popular game modes, Versus Battles. Here's everything you need to know!

Versus Battles Objective

Versus Battles is one of the game modes in Clash of Clans in which two players attack each other's base simultaneously.

The objective is to destroy as much of your opponent's base as you can before the one-minute timer runs out.

Matchmaking

Versus Battles earn players trophies. Trophies then determine a player's ranking.

When searching for opponents, the game will match you to someone with a similar amount of trophies to you, as well as a similar level Town Hall.

The matchmaking system makes it possible to encounter players with up to 200 trophies more or less than you.

The number of trophies a player wins is based on how many trophies their opponent has.

If you have exactly the same number of trophies, you will take 30 trophies from them if you win. If they have fewer trophies than you, you will take slightly less than 30 trophies and more than 30 if they have more than you.

Leaderboard

The leaderboard is determined by the number of trophies an individual or clan has. The leaderboard shows the top 200 players or clans in each league.

Gameplay

Once you are matched with an opponent, you will have one minute to destroy as much of their base as you can.

At the end of the battle, you will be able to see the damage you've dealt and the number of stars achieved.

Once both you and your opponent have finished your attacks, the winner will be determined using three criteria:

1. The player with the most stars wins.
2. If both players have the same number of stars, the person with the highest damage percentage wins.
3. If both players have the same stars and same damage percentage, then it goes to whoever had the most time left.

If all three of these are the same, the game will result in a draw.

Rewards

After winning a Versus Battle, you will receive various rewards.

You will gain trophies from winning, as mentioned above, but you will also win loot such as gold and elixir.

The amount of gold you win depends on which league you're in (based on total trophies) and there is also bonus gold and elixir on offer for your third win of the day (this resets every 22 hours or you can use gems to reset the timer).

After three daily wins, you'll have to wait to receive bonus rewards. However, trophies can still be gained.

You can use gems to reset the timer, the cost of which will depend on which league you're in and how much time is left on the timer.
