At long last! ARK's Genesis Part 2 update has finally started dropping on digital storefronts after numerous delays and a distinct lack of communication from the Community Manager on social media.
It is being pitched as the final expansion pack for ARK: Survival Evolved and we can't wait to see what's in store.
LATEST - Full Announcement Imminent
It looks like ARK: Survival Evolved hasn't fully been updated just yet. As you might imagine, the servers are seeing an influx in traffic and ARK's Product Manager has had this to say.
At the moment, we haven't seen a tweet from the official ARK social media channel so we can only assume that the servers aren't fully updated and online with Genesis Part 2.
It's Go Time, Survivors!
We might not have confirmation from the official ARK: Survival Evolved social media account that the Genesis Part 2 update is out now, reports are starting to show up of players getting a heft update for ARK: Survival Evolved on consoles.
The update looks to be around 16GB on consoles and 19.6GB on PC.
We are under the impression that this update is being released simultaneously on all platforms, so it's time to start checking for updates.
Is This Really The End For ARK?
We know that ARK: Survival Evolved has been out a long time and ARK 2 is in the works, but it feels hard to imagine that this is the end for ARK.
Studio Wildcard has announced that ARK: Survival Evolved Ultimate Survivor Edition is going to be the definitive version of their title and it seems unlikely that they would release any further major content expansions following the release of this.
That being said, it doesn't mean we won't see anything new in ARK: Survival Evolved. EA's Star Wars: Squadrons is a prime example of a game that was pitched with no post-launch content when it launched and it still received numerous cosmetics, a new map, and new ships in the months after.
We could still see Studio Wildcard add smaller updates to ARK: Survival Evolved going forwards as we know the players will still be on hunting TEK-Raptors... We just don't know the extent of this at this stage.
Genesis Part 2 Release Date & Time
ARK: Survival Evolved is due to get its next major DLC expansion today, launching on all platforms at 08:00 EST / 13:00 BST on Thursday, June 3 - officially announced via Twitter on Wednesday.

From the looks of things, ARK: Survival Evolved's Genesis Part 2 is going to be the final expansion for ARK. ARK 2 is on the way, after all... The developers were going to have to stop adding new things to ARK eventually.

The two-part Genesis expansion for ARK might be more narratively driven, but that doesn't mean there isn't a whole host of new things to unpack. Here's a quick-fire list of what we know so far...
- Exo-Mek - Giant Mech that can be piloted by players to tackle the dangers of ARK;
- Astrodelphis - Dolphin-like creature that can be equipped with a saddle, thrusters, lasers...
- Noglin - A creature with mind-control capabilities, works on both players and other creatures;
- Voidwyrm - A tek wyvern (dragon) that will be one of the toughest enemies in the game to tame;
- Maewing - This will help protect your infant creatures and can be used to lure other infant creatures away from their mothers;
- New Weapons - Minigun, Net Projectile, Tek Bow, Tek Pistol;
- New Items & Tools - Egg Incubators, Canoes, Hoversails, Security Systems;
