Animal Crossing: New Horizons Sizzles With Bug Off Event

Animal Crossing: New Horizon has taken over the Nintendo Switch by storm. One of the game's recurring events is called the Bug Off.

As the name suggests, it involves catching insects and bugs. Here's what makes players look forward to it, and everything you need to know about the Animal Crossing Bug Off!

Animal Crossing: New Horizon Bug Off event dates

This recurring event is happening throughout the summer months. They differ on which location your island is in:

Northern Hemisphere Bug-Off 2021 Dates

• June 26th, 2021
• July 24th, 2021
• August 28th, 2021
• September 25th, 2021

Southern Hemisphere Bug-Off 2021 Dates

• January 16th, 2021
• February 20th, 2021
• November 20th, 2021
• December 18th, 2021

Rewards and Prizes

In case you forget about the dates, fret not, you will see Flick, the special character in charge of the event and his setup with a tent outside of your Resident Services area, as early as 5 in the morning when you log into the game.

Remember, you can play an unlimited number of time trial bug challenges from Flick and though the first one round will be free, you’ll have to give him 500 Bells to start new challenges after that.

Flick is also in charge of giving out the rewards and prizes for the player with the most points after a round of 3 minutes finishes.

After the timer ends, head to Flick to find out how many points you earned. You receive 1 point per bug caught and a bonus 2 points if you catch at least three bugs during the challenge. These points can be exchanged for exclusive Bug-Off items later on.

Exclusive Items

The Bug Off event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a special set of exclusive items available for players. After participating in the challenge, you can use your points to exchange for these special tokens.

Just chat with Flick and select “Redeem points” option. He will inform you on how many points you have and allow you to exchange 10 Points for an exclusive Bug Off item.
