Sandrone, also known by her codename ‘Marionette’, is causing quite a stir in the Genshin Impact community following recent leaks that suggest her potential involvement in the upcoming Fontaine Archon quest. Although leaks indicate that her Harbinger 'colleague' Arlecchino may not be a playable character, it is highly probable that Sandrone herself will be playable.

In July 2022, HoYoverse released a chilling trailer that introduced players to the eight remaining Fatui Harbingers of Snezhnaya. Among them was Sandrone, characterised by her poised demeanour and light brown hair, perched primly on the arm of a massive Automaton. However, HoYoverse has since draped a veil of secrecy over ‘Marionette’, making recent leaks and rumours all the more surprising.

It seems likely that Sandrone will be making her in-game debut much sooner than fans may have expected!

Will Genshin Impact's Sandrone be Playable?

According to a reliable leaker, Little_Teyvat, Sandrone is highly likely to become a playable character in Genshin Impact. It is also highly speculated that she will be joined by her fellow Harbingers, Arlecchino and Tartaglia, in the upcoming region of Fontaine's Archon quest. Although specific details about the version update featuring Sandrone remain unknown, there is a strong suspicion that she will make her first appearance in Version 4.3, following the debut of Focalor, the Hydro Archon.

Based on how HoYoverse developers have scheduled patches and updates in the past, Version 4.3 should arrive around November 2023.

Who is Genshin Impact Sandrone?

Sandrome, also known as ‘Marionette’, is one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers hailing from the land of Cryo, Snezhnaya. She is the seventh Harbinger.

The Eleven Harbingers serve as the executive heads of the Fatui and act as the Tsaritsa's lieutenants. Each Harbinger plays a distinct role and assumes specific responsibilities. For instance, Pantalone is in charge of economic policies, while Il Dottore leads dubious scientific advancements.

On one hand, like Dottore, Sandrone serves as an intelligent researcher for the Fatui. However, while Dottore is portrayed as a brutal scientist who resorts to unethical methods in his pursuit of creating 'enhanced humans,' little is known about Sandrone's motives. Based on the limited voicelines available on her character, Marionette is often deeply engrossed in studying the Automatons, a race of mechanical golems constructed by Khaenri'ah before its collapse. She is known to have a volatile personality.

Tartaglia, about Marionette: She always seems engrossed in her research. Hmm... I wonder if those machines have anything to do with her? Anyway, I've only met her a few times, but every time she looked like she wanted to murder me. I have no idea what I possibly could have done to annoy her, though.

Wanderer, about Marionette: She has a terrible personality and cares for nothing outside of her own research. But even with that amount of dedication, she still produced a copious amount of garbage, and could only secure a ranking that's still one whole place beneath my own. How pitiful.

Like the other Fatui Harbingers, Sandrone's name and alias were derived from a stock character in commedia dell'arte, a form of traditional Italian pantomime theatre characterised by its masked characters and representation of fixed social types. In commedia dell'arte, Sandrone was a crude, cunning, and clever peasant who acted as a representative of a poor community. The character was initially presented as a puppet.

A 'marionette' refers to a puppet that is controlled by a puppeteer using strings and wires. The portrayal of Sandrone being carried by a large Automaton could be depicted as an allusion to the concept of a marionette, where the Harbinger acts as the puppet and the Automaton serves as the puppeteer. This has given rise to fan theories that raise doubts about Sandrone's true nature: is she really the ‘human’ counterpart of the two?

It’s crucial to bear in mind that leaked information can be subject to changes and should be taken with a pinch of salt! Nevertheless, as a Harbinger, Sandrone plays a big part in pulling the strings across the nations in Teyvat. The community's anticipation continues to grow as we eagerly await her official debut.

Stay tuned as we continue to unveil both leaks and official information to keep you well-informed.
