Genshin Impact is down with connection issues

UPDATE - And almost as quickly as problems started did everything go back to normal. We'll put this down to a few Hu Tou ghosts in the system.

Original Story - Genshin Impact servers appear to be suffering from connection issues this afternoon.

According to the website downdetector, there's been a huge spike in players reporting connection issues.

A brief look online would suggest that most are reporting a 'connection timed out' error.

This error appears to be impacting all players, including anyone playing on PS4, Mobile and PC.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to easily check the server status of the game as there's no official page from the developer, MiHoYo.

Currently, the only way to check is via the Genshin Impact Twitter or the official Genshin Impact website.

However, so far there's been no word from either Twitter or the official website on the current problems facing fans.
