During the Genshin Impact 3.1 Livestream, we received fascinating news from Liu Wie, the game's creator. He revealed the first concept art of what they called a long-term project launch, which will eventually be a Genshin Impact anime!

During the showcase, we received a trailer which is our first look at the upcoming Genshin Impact anime. We also learned it is being created in collaboration with Ufotable, a Japanese animation studio known for creating Demon Slayer and the Fate saga.

Here's everything we know about the Genshin Impact anime so far, including a breakdown of its trailer, and when we might learn more about its release date.

Genshin Impact Anime Release Date: When will we learn more?

Judging by the trailer, the Genshin Impact anime is still in its initial stages.

The Genshin Impact anime doesn't even have a name yet, and with so much on the team's plate, including delays earlier this year around quarantine protocols, we'll likely have to wait awhile for release date information.

With this in mind, the earliest we're likely to hear about a release date window for the Genshin Impact anime is on the Second Anniversary, which will be celebrated in-game on September 28th. Realistically, we may not learn more before the end of 2022 depending on the studio's progress.

Genshin Impact Anime Trailer Breakdown

The trailer starts with Paimon flying inside a steep forest, and moments after, the song Dream Aria from the Genshin Impact OST starts playing in the background, followed by scenes of nature surrounding the forest.

Based on some familiar details, we can tell we are in Mondstadt. We see Anemo Cristalflies, the large oak tree in Windrise, Dragonspine Mountain, and the Anemo Archon Statue of the Seven.

Mondstadt is a familiar opening setting as it is also the city where the Genshin Impact adventure begins.

In the last scene, we can see Lumine and Aether, the main characters of Genshin Impact, holding hands. This could potentially be a dream sequence, as we know a mysterious god separated both twins in the story.

We can also see the siblings standing in the ruins of what looks like Khaenri'ah, the land of Lumine and Aether. Khaenri'ah was destroyed 500 years ago during the cataclysm.

With these details, we can start to piece together where and when the Genshin Impact anime may take place.

In the end, Genshin Impact fans are elated to finally receive news on the anime they've been asking for, and as more details are revealed, we'll update here with all the latest news.
