The Fortnite Dreamhack Open for October 2021 is here and finally kicks off today! It's the first major tournament of Season 8. These events are open to all players and often prove incredibly popular.
As we enter the final countdown before the event begins, here's everything you need to know before the Dreamhack Open takes place.
Latest - Just hours to go!
There are just hours until the Fortnite Dreamhack Cup takes place across all regions. The EU tournament is due to begin at 16:00 BST while the NA East extravaganza begins at 17:00 EST.
Fortnite Dreamhack Open Start Times
Each Fortnite Dreamhack Open kicks off with the heat phase. This is where everyone can enter and attempt to progress deeper into the tournament. The main regions are Europe and NA East and the start times are as follows;
- Europe - 7 October - Heat 1 & 2 - 16:00 - 23:00 BST (One-hour break at 19:00)
- NA East - 7 October - Heat 1 & 2 - 17:00 - 00:00 EST (One-hour break at 20:00)
To enter the Dreamhack Open, you simply need to be logged in at the above time and enter the required playlist. You must have some general account housekeeping in place to take part like having 2-Factor Authentication activated.
Fortnite Dreamhack Open Start Time for Europe
You will also need your account to be in good standing, meaning no behavioural issues or bans on the account. Finally, your account will need to be at least level 30. This information can be found in the career tab in the Fortnite lobby.
Remaining Schedule
Should you make it through the first three heats, there are still two more dates to keep in mind. The Semi-Finals and Finals take place shortly after the heats are finished.
On Saturday, 9 October the Semi-Finals take place between 18:00 - 19:00 BST in Europ and between 19:00 - 22:00 EST in NA West.
The Finals take place a day later on Sunday, 10 October between 15:00 - 20:00 BST in Europe and between 16:00 - 21:00 EST in NA West.
