CD Projekt Red is best known for The Witcher series of games.
In fact, that is the only IP they have ever created, until now.
In less than one week, Cyberpunk 2077 will be released after 8 years of development.
The Witcher: Enhanced Edition For Free
CD Projekt Red are given away their first game, The Witcher: Enhanced Edition, for free.
It can be claimed on their GOG platform when updating to the latest version of the launcher.
Upon updating you will see the offer on the dashboard, simply click the 'Yes, claim' button and it will be added to your library.
The Witcher was first released back in 2007 on Windows and Mac.
A console port was planned in 2009 but was unfortunately cancelled after payment disputes with the developers.
CD Projekt Red released the Enhanced Edition in 2008, fixing many of the issues the game had.
Since then the game has spawned 2 sequels, 2011's The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and 2015's mega-hit The Witcher 3.
There has also been various The Witcher themed spin-off titles, such as GWENT: The Witcher Card Game.
On December 10, CD Projekt Red will release their first new game outside of The Witcher series, Cyberpunk 2077.
The game has been in development since 2012 and has seen many delays over recent months and years.
Cyberpunk 2077 is just one week away now.
Soon fans will be able to play the latest entry from CD Projekt Red.
The game was originally scheduled to launch back on November 19th, but was pushed back 21 days to allow the developers to iron out some kinks.
It will now release on December 10th.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be available at launch on:
- PC via GOG, Epic Games Store, and Steam
- PlayStation 4
- Xbox One
- Google Stadia
What About PS5 & Xbox Series X|S?
CD Projekt Red have confirmed that the game will be coming to both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
However, this won't be at launch and will instead be released hopefully sometime in 2021.
The good news is, due to both consoles' backwards compatibility, Cyberpunk 2077 will be playable on both next gen consoles at launch.
But, players will be using the PS4/Xbox One version of the game, meaning they won't get any of the improved graphics, ray tracing etc.
Will I Need To Buy The Game Again?
It has been confirmed that owners of the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game will be able to upgrade to the next gen version for free when it is released.
CD Projekt Red confirmed on Twitter that "a later upgrade to Cyberpunk 2077, taking full advantage of the next-gen hardware, will be available for free."
