What the Apex Legends Switch download size is

The long-awaited handheld version of Apex Legends is coming to Switch today. Complete with cross-play, the port will be the full game that even more people will be able to jump into.

With the launch imminent, you'll be wanted to get enough space free on your hybrid console ahead of time.

Switch Release Time

It has been confirmed that Apex Legends will come to Switch at 1pm ET/6pm GMT on March 9.

Apex Legends Switch Download Size

While the game isn't out on Nintendo's hybrid console system quite yet, the size of it has been revealed via the console giant's website.

According to the Apex Legends page on the Switch site, you'll need around 25 to 30GB of free space on your hard drive to download it.

The site says: "Game requires a download of at least 30 GB via a wireless Internet connection." However, slightly below that quote on the page, it says "Game File Size: 25.0 GB."

Therefore, if you're trying to prepare for the release of the game, make sure you've got 30GB or so of free space on your SD card.

You might end up needing less than that, but it's better to be prepared ahead of time than having to scramble to delete something once it is live.

Yes, 25-30GB is bigger than most games on Nintendo Switch, but that makes a lot of sense since it's a port of a pretty substantial game.

While the visual fidelity won't be quite so good on Nintendo's system, it still has a lot of systems that require space. Therefore, the large download size isn't much of a surprise.
