NBA 2K22 Ratings: Highest Rated Player Predictions

Predicting the player with the highest NBA 2K22 rating will be tough, as there were some stand-out players in 2021 that could fit the bill.

Here's a list of the current top-five rated players in NBA 2K21, just to refresh your memory.

  • Lebron James - 97 OVR
  • Stephen Curry - 97 OVR
  • Kevin Durant - 96 OVR
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo - 96 OVR
  • Kawhi Leonard - 96 OVR

Nikola Jokic, who won the Most Valuable Player award this year, holds a 96 OVR rating in NBA 2K21 as well. After this season, however, don't be shocked if he takes the mantle of the top-rated player in NBA 2K22. Being the first center to win the MVP is definitely worthy of an extra point.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is another worthy candidate for the number one spot. He's led the Bucks to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1974, and leads the team in points and rebounds. A 97 or 98 overall NBA 2K22 rating isn't out of the question for Giannis as a result.

But these aren't the only top players contending for a high NBA 2K22 rating.

Here's where we think the best players will land in NBA 2K22.

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo - 98 OVR
  • Nikola Jokic - 97 OVR
  • Stephen Curry - 97 OVR
  • Lebron James - 96 OVR
  • Kevin Durant - 96 OVR

Which team will reign supreme?

Another question arising from NBA 2K players is which team will take the highest rated team in NBA 2K22. This year we saw two teams in the NBA Finals for the first time in decades. Could either of those teams jump over the No.1 ranked Brooklyn Nets?

Currently, these are the top-five teams in NBA 2K21, based on the overall of the top-eight players.

  • Brooklyn Nets - 85 OVR
  • Denver Nuggets - 83 OVR
  • Los Angeles Lakers - 83 OVR
  • Phoenix Suns - 83 OVR
  • Boston Celtics - 82 OVR

The Nets will likely stay atop the team ratings in NBA 2K22 so we shouldn't see much of a shake-up here. However, the Milwaukee Bucks will likely overtake the Boston Celtics, going from an 82 overall, to an 83 or 84. You could also expect a point boost from the Suns in 2K22.

Players that deserve a rating boost in NBA 2K22

There were some fantastic players that had a breakout season in 2021. For NBA 2K22 to stay updated, these players will need a significant boost in the upcoming game.

Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns

Devin Booker took the world by storm during the NBA Bubble in 2020. Some thought he wouldn't have the same season the following year and instead he led his team to the NBA Finals. If anyone deserves a boost from his current 89 OVR, it's Booker.

Julius Randle, New York Knicks

Randle was considered a washed-out player only a few years ago but he's switched the narrative during his time in New York. He led the Knicks to the playoffs and won the NBA Comeback Player of the Year award this year. His overall definitely needs an adjustment from its current 89.

BOOSTED: Trae Young is just one of many players that deserve a boost in NBA 2K22

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks

Trae Young has a current ranking of 87 in NBA 2K21 and we hope to see a boost in the upcoming game. Young was the driving force behind the Hawks in the playoffs this year and deserves at least an 89 OVR in NBA 2K22 after leading them to the Eastern Conference Finals, eliminating the top seeded Philadelphia 76ers.

When can we expect NBA 2K22 ratings?

Unfortunately, as of today, the rating release date is still TBA. However, we can expect that we should see the NBA 2K22 ratings released in late August.

This is based on the release date from last year, so we could see it sooner.
