PES 2020 make yet another announcement with the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar set to appear in a football game for the first time.
The national team are currently qualifying for Euro 2020 - another license that has been acquired by Konami for the upcoming season.
Gibraltar's kit, crest and players will all appear in PES 2020 exclusively this year, with the territory yet to be recognised by football's governing body FIFA - and therefore not in FIFA 20.
UEFA recognition was attained in 2013, with the qualifiers for EURO 2016 marking Gibraltar's first ever competitive fixtures.
In their 40 matches since, Team 54 (the 54th territory accepted into UEFA) have defeated Armenia, Latvia, Liechtenstein & Malta, and have recorded impressive draws against Estonia & Slovakia
You can now have a go at the big boys of England, France, Germany & Spain on PES 2020. You can see how close you can get to qualification for EURO 2020, where Gibraltar face the Republic of Ireland, Denmark, Switzerland and Georgia in their group.
eEURO 2020 Esports Tournament
As part of the licensing for UEFA Euro 2020, an esports tournament will also be taking place next summer. Gibraltar will be joined by the other 50+ UEFA recognised territories to compete for glory in the UEFA eEURO 2020 tournament on PES 2020.
Gibraltar's only recognised esports professional is Keiron Prescott, who has reportedly taken in over $125,000 playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG).
