The Show Classics program is finally here, and just like its promo series, it's introduced great cards from past years to MLB The Show 24.

However, this time players will be able to earn these great cards for free, by griding the program instead of spending a lot of Stubs.

Some of the The Show Classics Pack 2 cards are also up for grabs in the program.

So let's find out everything about The Show Classics program.

The Show Classics Program Release Date

The Show Classics program arrived at Diamond Dynasty on Friday 26 April at around 12 pm PST (3 pm ET / 7 pm GMT).

In a day where a lot of content arrives at MLB The Show 24, including a roster update and a new event, this program still managed to take the spotlight.

So let's take a look at what kinda of content The Show Classics program brought to Diamond Dynasty.

The Show Classics promo series was introduced on 10 April, and two The Show Classics packs have been released since then.

These packs introduced great cards but there was no free way to earn any of them, which left the community disappointed.

This Show Classics program finally gives players a chance to earn some of the cards introduced in the two previous packs for free.

Furthermore, it also includes other rewards such as a plethora of packs from different promos, including one The Show Classics pack, five unsellable cards, stadium sounds, and even profile banners.

Here is the The Show Classics Program Reward Path

The Show Classics program cards that players can earn are the following:

  • 93 OVR Kenta Maeda
  • 94 OVR Keibert Ruiz
  • 94 OVR Gleyber Torres
  • 94 OVR Nick Lodolo
  • 95 OVR Cody Bellinger

Like all the other MLB The Show 24 programs, The Show Classics program also introduced many challenges and missions. Players have to complete them to advance in the reward path and secure all the rewards mentioned above.

Since most of The Show Classics promo cards released so far have high ratings and incredible attributes, it was expected equally great cards would be introduced and that players could use them to improve their Diamond Dynasty squad.

Despite that, the cards The Show Classics program introduced aren't amazing, and won't make most Diamond Dynasty squads. It's very disappointing but not surprising, unfortunately.

A Way to Mend the Relationship with the Community

The Show Classics program was supposed to rebuild the trust many in the MLB The Show 24 community had lost, by giving players a free way to earn good cards.

Unfortunately, it failed in doing so and it seems the community discontentment grew.

Most of the best cards in Diamond Dynasty have been introduced exclusively through packs, almost forcing players to spend Stubs if they want to be competitive, so users have a good reason to be upset.

The best cards in Diamond Dynasty are, unfortunately, almost only available in packs

This could have been the first step to mend the relationship with the MLB The Show 24 community and make Diamond Dynasty more enjoyable. Instead, the best cards continue locked behind a paywall and the small number of good cards you can earn for free are unsellable.

This program didn't deliver, and we fear it only fueled the discontentment in the MLB The Show 24 community.
