Should you kill McKay in Far Cry 6?

Far Cry 6 is a huge game filled with tonnes of activities and even some end-game content. For this reason, it's important to think about your decisions and do what's best for taking everyone down.

If you've picked up the game over the festive period, one decision may stand out to you when it arrives. The decision to kill McKay in Far Cry 6 is a tough one but knowing what happens may help you. Here's what happens so you can decide what to do...

How do you get to McKay?

McKay is located in the El Este region and he can be found in the final mission, The Deported. Just make your way through the game and you should find this mission naturally.

This mission tasks you with trying to take down McKay's operation through a full assault on the port. Make sure to bring the big guns with you, you'll need them.

What happens if you kill McKay?

Killing McKay will grant you with a special piece of wrist gear called "Canadian, Eh?". It gives you pesos whenever you kill enemies with poison damage. This clearly takes after McKay in his ability to kill civilians without directly hitting them.

This is a decent way to earn some extra money and it's just a free piece of gear.

What happens if you let him live?

McKay offers to fund your liberation if you let him go and he means this, to some extent. If you choose not to kill him, you will get given 5000 pesos and the disapproval of Yelena.

This won't affect the story in any major way.

Should You Kill McKay or Not in Far Cry 6?

The choice is just between the gear or the money. If you know how to do the operations, you shouldn't have a problem earning pesos so killing him for the wrist gear seems like the better option. You can always make it back in poison damage anyway.

This is mostly not that important of a choice so either way works fine.
