The Fire squad certainly spiced up your Weekend League squads in FUT 22, but how will the Ice squad compare?
Take a look at who we think will be included in the FUT Versus Ice squad and how the new cards could look below.
Latest - Fire squad out now!
The first ever FUT Versus squad has been released in Ultimate Team!
Manchester rivals Gabriel Jesus (OVR 89) and Marcus Rashford (OVR 88) are clearly the standouts, but there are some other really nice cards included too.
Fellow Premier League stars Joe Gomez (OVR 86) and Adama Traore (OVR 86) all feature, with Cristian Pulisic (OVR 86) being handed a boosted SBC card.
La Liga players Federico Valverde (OVR 87), Jules Kounde (OVR 87) and Angel Correa (OVR 86) all look simply ridiculous!
The Team of the Group Stage (TOTGS) promo has come to an end this week, with the FUT Versus event having commenced on Friday, 10 December.
The 'Fire' XI, that is currently out now, will be available in packs until Monday, 13 December.
They will then be replaced in packs by the 'Ice' squad on Monday, 13 December until Friday, 17 December.
The Ice squad will be released at 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, like all other FUT releases, replacing the Fire cards in packs immediately.
If you aren't quite sure how the 'Ice' squad works in FUT 22, the following statement from EA might help a little:
Ready to play with fire, or want to break the ice? The 11 players in the FUT Versus squad will line up with two contrasting playing styles in FUT 22: Versus Fire and Versus Ice, which give each FUT Versus player two unique permanent upgrades and item designs.
So, this means that the Versus Ice cards will be the exact same set of players but with different stats.
For example, EA could reduce the pace of Adama Traore's Versus Fire card and increase his shooting for the Ice version.
This would make Traore a more well-rounded card overall and would certainly be popular amongst the FIFA community!
Skill Moves OR Weak Foot
The Versus promo also has a skill moves/weak foot twist to it!
The Ice squad features some cards with either five-star skill moves or a five-star weak foot, whilst the same player's fire version will have the reverse.
For example, the current Pulisic SBC player pick provides the option between his Ice version, which has five-star skill moves, and his Fire version, which has a five-star weak foot.
This makes choosing which one to complete as an SBC, or purchasing a particular player on the market, very interesting and allows you to choose the player that will suit your play style best.
If you are a skill merchant, go for the skill moves, whilst if you like to pass and move, then go for the weak foot!
So, who could we see as the next Versus player pick SBC in Ultimate Team? We'd love to see Erling Haaland given the same style SBC with the potential for five-star skill moves!
