WWE 2K23 has finally been confirmed, and the anticipation can begin for the next chapter in this rebounding franchise.

While many assumed that WWE 2K22 would only be the beginning for the rebooted franchise, speculation now becomes reality.

Thanks to the success of WWE 2K22 in revitalizing the series after the failure of WWE 2K20, players can indeed start looking forward to WWE 2K23.

Take-Two Interactive released their results for Fiscal First Quarter 2023, and at the end of that summary they included the company's future lineup of releases.

WWE 2K23, published by 2K Games (which is under the Take-Two Interactive umbrella), currently has a "Fiscal 2023" release date on their official report.

While some will initially assume this means it'll release any time in 2023, others have confirmed that Take-Two's fiscal year officially ends March 31, 2023.

Fiscal Year windows can vary company to company, but this detail means that we know WWE 2K23 is currently scheduled to be released before March 31, 2023.

When is the WWE 2K23 release date?

Take-Two stopped short of a firm date in their documentation, likely because that date isn't even known yet, but the mention does help us know what to expect.

Prior to this news, the biggest question mark about a potential release date for WWE 2K23 has less to do with the exact day and more to do with the season in which it's expected.

WWE 2K20 and previous titles in this franchise release in the fall of each year around October, but that changed with WWE 2K22.

Thanks in large part to delays in game development and a commitment by the team at 2K Games to deliver a quality product, WWE 2K22 was delayed to a March 11, 2022 release date.

That put the game out right before WrestleMania, and it's a tie-in that WWE unsurprisingly seems to want to recreate.

While the Fiscal Year 2023 window would still include a game released in the next few months, it's looking less and less likely that they'll return to that timing.

Considering how much Take-Two pushed WWE 2K22's success in their latest earnings report, they seem happy with the outcome of last year's release.

As a result, at this point we expect the most likely WWE 2K23 release date will be Friday, March 10, 2023.

This could still change, but as of now fans can likely look forward to WWE 2K becoming a WrestleMania season tradition moving forward.
