Shapeshifters has taken over in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team and some are already saying it is better than the Team of the Season campaign!
Not only have we seen some of the top stars of the current game given the Shapeshifters treatment, but Icons have gotten involved in the celebrations too.

Shapeshifters Team 2 Release Time
Shapeshifters Team 1 took over from the Team of the Season promo on Friday, 16 June.
After one week of being in packs, Team 2 will then be released on Friday, 23 June, coming into packs at 1pm ET / 6pm BST and once again available in packs for one week.
Shapeshifters Team 2 COUNTDOWN
We expect a Mini-Release of three players to drop on Sunday, 25 June, however, those items came at the same time as the main squad of Team 1.
With Season 7 dedicated to Shapeshifters, it looks like we could be in store for another mammoth promo.
Shapeshifters Team 2 Predictions
A few of our player predictions for Shapeshifters Team 1 were correct, so we're hoping to continue that run and see more of our suggestions make their way into FIFA 23 Ultimate Team!
Virgil van Dijk was the highest-rated regular Shapeshifters card from the first release, with a 98 OVR, which makes us think we may be waiting a bit longer for a 99-rated Lionel Messi item.
The Argentine is the only other player that just needs a +1 increase on his highest-rated card to hit the maximum rating, so we could see some large boosts handed out elsewhere.
Our predictions for Shapeshifters Team 2 are as follows:

- CB - Kyle Walker (OVR 94)
- CB - Olivier Giroud (OVR 93)
- LB - Bernardo Silva (OVR 96)
- CDM - Harry Kane (OVR 98)
- CM - Youcef Atal (OVR 95)
- CM - Jules Kounde (OVR 96)
- CAM - Youssoufa Moukoko (OVR 94)
- CF - Renato Sanches (OVR 97)
- RW - Paul Pogba (OVR 93)
- ST - Silas (OVR 94)
Icons
EA went big with their first Shapeshifters Icons release, handing Pele a 99-rated winger version!
Fans will now be expecting another 99-rated card, and who better to gain that than his national compatriot Ronaldo?
Already a highly sought-after card as one of the best strikers in the game, giving R9 a bump in passing and defending attributes could transform him into one of the best CAMs around!
We would love to see the following players gain a Shapeshifters Icon upgrade:
- RB - David Beckham (OVR 96)
- CB - Ruud Gullit (OVR 95)
- CDM - Carlos Alberto (OVR 95)
- CAM - Ronaldo (OVR 99)
- RW - Emilo Butragueno (OVR 94)
FUT Heroes
The Icons have gained a Shapeshifters makeover, so surely the FUT Heroes will follow suit, especially as they gained that upgrade in FUT 22.
When we see them is up for debate, with the FUT Hero cards coming in the third and fourth teams in the last campaign, so there may be another wait in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.
We're ready to be surprised, however, and would love to see the following players included in Shapeshifters Team 2:
- CB - Yaya Toure (OVR 95)
- LB - Saeed Al Owairan (OVR 92)
- CAM - Ivan Cordoba (OVR 94)
- LW - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (OVR 93)
- ST - Lucio (OVR 94)
Goalkeeper Leaks
Reliable leaker FifaTradingRomania announced on Twitter that goalkeepers will be getting involved in the Shapeshifters campaign.
This is something the community has been crying out for in previous years and if it proves to be correct many will be over the moon!
Apparently, two or three SBCs will be coming soon, focussed on goalkeepers.
We think the following cards would be great inclusions for this:
- Kyle Walker - GK
- Ederson - CDM
- Manuel Neuer - CM
- Alisson - ST
