EA Battlefield 2042 was expected in October this year. However, the developers face some unforeseen challenges, pushing the debut of the game to November 19, 2021
Earlier this month, players that pre-ordered the game and had active EA Play memberships got to participate in the Open Beta - but more is on the way for early access!
Battlefield 2042 EA Play Trial Release Date
EA play members, including Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, will be able to begin 10 hours of unlimited early access to Battlefield 2042 on November 12, 2021!
This will accompany players who preordered special editions of Battlefield 2042 which offered one week of early access before launch day.
Both the early access and the 10 hours trial will launch at the same time - so either way, you'll get to hop right into Battlefield 2042 long before its release date!
New Gameplay Trailer
During today's announcements, EA released a new Battlefield 2042 gameplay trailer. This includes a new focus around the Portal Mode.
Portal Mode
Portal Mode is a sandbox in which players can create customized game modes using assets from all past Battlefield games.
This mode will include a version of revamped all-time favorites guns, vehicles, maps, and specialty equipment.
Players can also create unique setups limiting the type of weapons available for each team. Full matches with one team battling with planes and the other only with tanks.
Even Battles through time, like small futuristic squads vs entire armies from the XX century.
The games that will be available to use in Battlefield Portal include:
- Battlefield 1942
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2
- Battlefield 3
- Battlefield 2042
Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone
Players can expect some battle royale mechanics with Hazard Zone, a new game mode arriving in Battlefield 2042.
The game mode will feature four-member squads that must locate and retrieve critical Data Drives scattered throughout the battlefield while fighting opposing squads with the same objective and occupying forces.
Hazard Zone and more will be available during Battlefield 2042 early access, so don't miss out on the extra playtime!
