Marvel's Avengers has been out for about six months now and the second DLC character is launching as part of the 1.5 Update.

The next-gen version arrives on the same day, but the 1.5 Update is focused on new character and bug fixes.

We've got everything you need to know about it down below.

Square Enix Presents Avengers

The Square Enix Presents event is due to happen on the same day as the Marvel Avenger's 1.5 update releases, at 5pm GMT on March 18.

It will include new information on Marvel's Avengers, maybe including some updates on Spider-Man, as well as news about Tomb Raider and Life Is Strange games.

While it'll likely feature information on the game that's due beyond next week, it will probably also feature more information on the 1.5 patch, so keep your eyes out.

Avengers Update 1.5 Release Date

The developers have revealed that Update 1.5 will arrive on March 18, although an exact time of release is not known.

Patch Notes

The full patch notes are yet to be released (we'll have those for you as soon as possible) but Crystal Dynamics has released an image on Twitter that has a lot of the key details.

As you can see, the following features will be coming as part of Marvel's Avengers Update 1.5.

  • New Hero: Hawkey
  • New Villain: Maestro
  • New Story Content
  • A New Operation
  • The ability to replay the Campaign
  • Customizable HARM Rooms

Next-Gen

Alongside the release of Update 1.5, the next-gen version of Marvel's Avengers is also due to release.

It has been delayed a couple of times, following the base game's rocky launch, but it's now just a couple of days away.

It will feature the following:

  • 4K/60 fps graphics
  • Free Upgrade
  • Save data transfer feature

Also, Crystal Dynamics had the following to say about the upgrades:

"The game utilizes the consoles’ built-in SSD for dramatically faster loading and streaming times and takes advantage of their graphics power and memory to deliver higher-resolution textures, farther draw distances for high-resolution models, improved heroics and armour destruction, and other enhancements that leverage the full might of these new consoles to make gamers truly feel like a Super Hero,"

Hawkeye

The game's next character is also exciting. Hawkeye, the bow wielding hero, will be out as part of Avengers Update 1.5.

He won't just be a remake of the Jeremy Renner version, though.

His suit will be an "original design for Marvel's Avengers that Clint can wear to unleash arrows with futuristic style."

Customizable HARM Rooms

Customizable Harm Rooms are a feature that fans have been asking about for a while.

You will be able to do things like add hundreds of enemies to the room, increasing the challenge significantly or allowing you to crush loads of characters at once with on leaping Hulk Smash.

New XP System

Finally, Marvel's Avengers Update 1.5 will bring about the much maligned new XP system.

The developers are making it slower to level up and earn gear in the game, for a reason that's not entirely clear.

It has been designed to slow progression, so that players aren't maxing out to quickly and running out of content.

After fans voiced their concerns, they had the following to say in response:

" The problem we were seeing, and hearing, was that you would immediately get more skill points than you had time to review, apply, and get used to, before embarking on your next mission and gaining your next few levels. Hopefully, you can see the issue here."

As more about Marvel's Avengers Update 1.5 is revealed, we'll be sure to give you all the relevant updates.
