Despite launching over five years ago, Rainbow Six Siege continues to grow with more and more players jumping into the tactical FPS shooter each year that passes.
Last we checked, the game was now over 60 million players strong and we can only see it growing as more players try their hand at the game.
That's without mentioning the thriving esports scene that has propelled the game to even greater heights.
In 2021, we will see the beginning of Rainbow Six's sixth year of content and that means we should likely expect more operators, maps and tweaks/reworks to the existing content available.
Though details on Y6S1 are still relatively unclear, we do know some details ahead of time, largely thanks to the efforts of dataminers.
So if you're looking to know everything there is about the next season of content, read on, we'll tell you everything we know so far.
Ubisoft has today (February 18) released a new teaser trailer for the next big update coming to the tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege.
Having already announced the name of the new season as operation “Crimson Heist”, we now get a closer look at one of the new operators coming to the game, named Flores.
This suave looking attacker already looks like a lot of fun, but we'll have to wait for the full reveal to take place later this week.
You can watch this Sunday, Feb. 21, at 12:00 pm EST, 9:00 am PST, 5:00 pm GMT, or 6:00 pm CET, to see the full reveal.
Stay tuned for more details soon.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 Season 1 Name - Crimson Heist
Let's kick things off with a nice easy one.
Each season typically has it's own name and the rumours and leaks suggest that Y6S1 will be called 'Crimson Heist'.
This title was leaked by one of the games foremost data miners, @Benjaminstrike.
Whilst it's anything but confirmed, and should be taken with a pinch of salt, you couldn't ask for a better source.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 Season 1 Name - Release Date
Given we don't even have the official name for the next season, it's advantageous to think we might know the release date.
That said, based on previous releases and reveals we can at least offer a decent guesstimate of when we can expect it to drop.
For starters, we have the Siege Invitational for 2021 coming in February from 19th to 21st, and we'll most likely learn the first details for Year 6 Season 1 during the event.
For those who don't know what the Siege Invitational is, here's a bit more info:
"As the 5th year of Siege comes to an end, once again, the Siege community turns its eyes to the Six Invitational. For its fifth edition, the World Championship of Rainbow Six: Siege will feature the 20 best teams from all over the world, clashing in a new competitive format with more matches and opportunities for players to prove their worth. Celebrate the best the Siege community has to offer as we crown a new champion and discover what year 6 has in store for us from February 19th to 21st."
Update February 4 - Ubisoft has Postponed The Six Invitational 2021 Due To A France Travel Ban
This could mean the reveal of Y6S1 will be pushed back, unless Ubisoft opts to reveal the new season in spite of the Six Invitational not going ahead.

New Operator and Gadget
Once again, we're leaning on our dataminer for info.
As per @Benjaminstrike the next season will introduce an Attacker by the name of Flores.
A Chilean agent who will supposedly deeply a drone called the RCE-Ratero.
If that didn't sound cool enough, it will explode like a C4 blast once triggered by players. Sounds deadly.
Fewer details are available on the weapons for Year 6 Season 1.
@Benjaminstrike has noted that there's potentially a new secondary weapon in the works, one with explosive bullets for some of the games Attackers.
However, he did note that the gun could also arrive much later in the year, with a Y6S2 release also a possibility.
With every season of Year 5, Rainbow Six underwent at least one map rework.
This trend looks to continue in Year 6 and based on some less than subtle teasers, it would seem as though the Bank map is up next.
We'll be sure to update this page as more info becomes available in the lead up to the Six Invitational later this month.
