Madden 22 Roster Update Predictions: Week 9 Player Ratings

Week 9 of the NFL came with some stunning performances by players that really stepped it up for their team. Because of this, they should see a significant jump to their Madden 22 rating.

Others, however, took a step back and will need to find a way to bounce back in Week 10 after their Madden rating is reduced.

Here's who we think will see a bump in their Madden 22 rating and who will drop this week.

Madden 22 Roster Update Predictions after Week 9

Each week, some key players go above and beyond to lead their team. Even if the end result is a loss, they played their hearts out. For this reason, they get a boost to their Madden 22 rating.

Week 9 had a lot of players performing at their best and it gave us an idea of who will be seeing a significant jump once the Madden 22 update is released.

PLAY TO WIN: We've got a list of players deserving of a Madden 22 ratings boost

Let's get our predictions started with the winners of the Madden 22 roster update.

The Winners

Our winners are players that shocked the NFL in Week 9 with their performances. They range from well-known players to some obscure ones we heard about just this week.

One of these players doesn't even have a Madden 22 rating right now, if you went to EA's website, you wouldn't find his name listed anywhere.

NUMBER 10: Justin Herbert finds himself among our Winners this week

Let's get started with our first winner of the Madden 22 ratings, Josh Johnson!

Josh Johnson (QB) - Not Rated (+2) - New York Jets

This is a fantastic winner to start off with considering Josh Johnson isn't even on the Jets roster in Madden 22 yet. This means when the Madden 22 roster update comes out, adding him into the game is a must!

Johnson threw for 317 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Even with the loss, we expect Johnson to get a +2 to his rating at having a 65 OVR to build on.

Justin Herbert (QB) - 84 OVR (+2) - Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert saw his rating reduced last week, but will be seeing a significant jump to his Madden 22 OVR rating after his recent performance.

On Sunday, against the Philadelphia Eagles, Herbert threw for 356 yards and two touchdowns, taking over the passing leaderboards for Week 9. Expect Herbert to get a +2 jump to his Madden 22 overall rating once the Madden 22 roster update goes live.

Jonathan Taylor (RB) - 87 OVR (+1) - Indianapolis Colts

The workhorse of the Indianapolis Colts had himself another fantastic game in Week 9. His ability to pound the ball in key scenarios has propelled him to the top of the ESPN leaderboards this week.

In his game against the Jets, Taylor rushed for 172 yards, leading the NFL. He also tacked on two touchdowns, helping his team secure a 45-30 victory over the Jets. We believe his performance will earn him a 1-point boost on his way to getting a 90 OVR Madden 22 rating.

The Losers

As always, with winners come losers and there were a few players that grossly underperformed in Week 9. Because of this, they'll see a reduction to their Madden 22 rating.

The good news is they'll be able to bounce back from it, providing that they find a way to put together a better performance in Week 10.

ANOTHER BAD DAY: Sam Darnold finds himself among our losers again

Let's get started with our first loser of the Madden 22 roster update, Tyrod Taylor.

Tyrod Taylor (QB) - 70 OVR (-2) - Houston Texans

One player we were surprised by their terrible performance was Tyrod Taylor of the Houston Texans. We believed that Taylor was exactly what the Texans needed to get back on track.

Unfortunately, that isn't how the game turned out and he threw three interceptions with no touchdowns. The Texans ended up losing the game 17-9 to the Miami Dolphins. We expect that Taylor will fall under his current 70 OVR rating when the Madden 22 roster update is live.

Sam Darnold (QB) - 72 OVR (-1) - Carolina Panthers

Over the last few weeks, Sam Darnold has found himself on our losers list for the Madden 22 ratings predictions. Unfortunately for him, this week is no different.

Darnold had a worse game than Tyrod Taylor did, throwing for just 172 yards with three interceptions. He finished the game with a QBR of 26.3 and should see another reduction to his Madden 22 rating.

Deebo Samuel ( WR) - 86 OVR (-1) - San Francisco 49ers

Deebo Samuel is usually one of the best receivers in the league from week to week and doesn't make very many mistakes.

Unfortunately, his lack of production on Sunday contributed to the 49ers loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. He'll likely just see a slight reduction in his Madden 22 rating, but will be back in action next week.
