When Does Genshin Impact 2.0 Finally Arrive?

Genshin Impact released just under a year ago and has made so many strides as we approach Genshin Impact 2.0's release date.

With tonnes of new updates and ways for players to get sucked in, it really is impressive what it has achieved. Luckily, there are no signs of stopping and it's ramping up for a huge new update in just under a week.

2.0 will finally let players visit Inazuma and find new characters along the way. It promises to shake up our conceptions of the game in more ways than one and players are very excited for it. Here's when you can play it for yourself.

Genshin Impact 2.0 Release Date

Although you can already see a little of what the next update entails, you won't get to play it for yourself until July 21st.


That leaves it mere days away from release now. Releasing on a Wednesday, the next update will probably hit its player peak on Friday, the 23rd. Make sure to get it all installed in time for the weekend.


What Time Does the Update Release?

The maintenance period for Genshin Impact 2.0 will kick off on July 21, 2021. at 6 a.m. (UTC+8) and will last for around five hours, meaning that players will receive Primogem compensation for the server downtime.

Here are the times for several different time zones:

  • 11 p.m. BST (July 20)
  • 6 p.m. EST
  • 3 p.m. PST

Genshin Impact players can expect anywhere from 300 - 600 Primogems in their in-game mailbox once the game is available again after the maintenance time.
