Genshin Impact's story will soon move from the Electro Nation to the land of the Dendro Archon. The introduction of Sumeru is expected for version 3.0.
The arrival of a new Nation means a lot of unique content coming to the game, new craftable weapons, new oculus, new enemies, and in the case of Dendro, new elemental reactions.
Hoyoverse (former miHoYo) likes to follow patterns when releasing new content. So, for example, before Sumeru, we will revisit the Golden Apple Archipielago as we did before landing in Inazuma.
Therefore, based on previous patches, we can speculate who and which vision will carry the first character from Sumeru.
Sumeru Release Date
Sumeru will open its doors with the release of Genshin Impact 3.0, which will go live on August 3, 2022, and run until September 13, 2022.

The Dendro Archon, Deity of Sumeru
According to the story, the Dendro Archon, the God of Wisdom and Knowledge, is the youngest among the Seven Archons. Queen Kusanali became the deity of Sumeru after the God of the Woods perished during the Cataclysm.
According to recent information, the Dendro Archon will be a little girl similar to Diona or Klee.
Kusanali is expected to become a playable character on Genshin Impact 3.1 on September 14, 2022.
Vision of the First Sumeru Character
These details are evident for those players that have a fresh memory of the Genshin Impact story.
Every nation is introduced by one character, and all of them share the same type of Vision.
- In Mondstadt, the first character to talk with the Traveler is Amber, a 4-star Pyro Character.
- Even when Liyue was available for exploration since the beginning, our first contact with the land of Rex Lapis was Xiangling, the talented chef that is a 4-star Pyro Polearm User.
- In the case of Inazuma, our guide was the guardian of the Kamisato Clan, Thoma. He was waiting for us in Ritou Harbor. He is a 4-star Pyro Polearm Character as well.
Based on this pattern, we can expect that the character that introduces Sumeru is a Pyro Vision Carrier, and we know the perfect character for the job.
Cyno the Scholar
Cyno was teased during the promotional video Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview, released by Hoyoverse last year.
The clip was a summary, teasing all the nations and showing the Road Map for Future Updates. We know the story will be divided into 8 chapters, and the 4th will be Sumeru.
When the narrator talks about Sumeru, we can see a young boy with an attire that depicts the God Anubis. In the image, we can see a red vision and a polearm under the name Cyno.
Sumeru in the Genshin Impact Manga
The second time Cyno appeared was during the 12th chapter of the Genshin Impact Manga. We find out he is a knowledgeable scholar from Sumeru Academia.
Cyno seems to be the perfect fit to introduce the Dendro Nation. He is familiar with characters like Amber and Lisa. His participation in the Storyline Preview confirms he will be an essential character in the new Genshin Impact Adventure, and he matches the Pyro Vision tradition.
