FIFA 23 World Cup Mode off to a DISASTROUS start

The World Cup Mode in FIFA 23 has only just launched, coming on Wednesday, 9 November, with loads of players excited to get stuck into the action.

However, in an event that is becoming far too common, that mode is not up to scratch, with bugs ruining the experience.

Broken Brackets

The first mistake (that's right, it isn't just a single error) has seen matches incorrectly scheduled during the Quarter Finals Knockout Stage.

This has meant that teams are playing against the wrong opposition at this point in the bracket, which doesn't follow the correct matchup process.

The FIFA Direct Communication Twitter account sent out a message letting users know this is an issue that they are investigating, but it will leave many with a sour taste.

Comments under the initial threat are pointing out that this is something that should have been discovered before launching the mode, with many complaining about the number of errors already experienced in FIFA 23.

World Cup Ban

As mentioned, that wasn't the only bug in the fledgling mode, with this one even more impactful.

Many players aren't even able to start an online match in the mode, so are unable to play against friends or take part in the Online Tournament to pit themselves against other gamers.

Again, this was addressed by the FIFA Direct Communication account, with the two issues announced within an hour and a half of each other.

It's safe to say this isn't how EA wanted the World Cup launch to go down, with a quick fix needed to get the fans back onside.
