FIFA 23 Inter Career Mode Guide - Starting Lineup, Who to Sign & more

Having been pipped to the Serie A title by just two points last season by their fierce Rivals, AC Milan, Inter are returning with a vengeance this time around.

The Italian giants already have a fantastic group of young players but a few adjustments need to be made in order to push for European silverware.

So, we're providing you with all the tools you need to succeed as the next Inter Milan manager in FIFA 23 Career Mode.

Team Rating

Inter has a five-star rating in FIFA 23.

The breakdown of the ratings is as follows: ATT 85, MID 81, DEF 84.

Starting Lineup and Formation

The Nerazzurri set up in the 3-5-2 formation by default in FIFA 23 as this is the system that Inter tends to use in real life.

Thanks to the new FIFA 23 meta, there isn't much need to stray too far from this set-up as it allows the team to get the most out of its attacking threats whilst remaining stable at the back.

Inter boasts three quality centre-backs in Alessandro Bastoni (OVR 84), Milan Skriniar (OVR 86) and Stefan de Vrij (OVR 84).

GOAL MACHINE - Martinez is one of the best strikers in FIFA 23

Getting up and down in the wing-back positions are Denzel Dumfries (OVR 82) and Robin Gosens (OVR 82).

Operating in the number six position is Marcelo Brozovic (OVR 86). Nicolo Barella (OVR 86) and Hakan Calhanoglu (OVR 84) will play in the key box-to-box central midfield roles.

Up front, Lautaro Martinez (OVR 86) and Romelu Lukaku (OVR 86) make up a classic strike partnership that will cause any defensive unit problems.

Andre Onana (OVR 82) is the man between the sticks.

Tactics and Instructions

Of course, with Lukaku and Martinez being the main goal threats, we want to maximise the pair's chances at a sight of goal.

So, instruct both strikers to Stay Forward and Stay Central. You'll want to make sure Lautaro Martinez is set on Get In Behind, whilst Belgian forward Lukaku can play as the Target Man.

INTEGRAL - Dumfries' role in the Inter side cannot be understated

The wing-backs are key to the 3-5-2 system, so you'll want both set on Always Overlap as well as Come Back On Defence.

Make sure to instruct your CDM, Marcelo Brozovic to Cover Centre and Stay Back While Attacking, allowing the Croatian midfielder to break counterattacks.

Training

When it comes to developing young players, you won't be short of options within this Inter Milan squad, with three players boasting a potential of over 88 OVR.

You should focus on developing Italian centre-half Alessandro Bastoni (POT 90), who can become a truly world-class defender within a few seasons.

Argentinian forward Lautaro Martinez (POT 90) also boasts a potential overall of 90, so make sure you're training him up consistently.

25-year-old central midfielder Nicolo Barella (POT 89) is one of the most exciting box-to-box CMs in world football.

It's also worth training promising defensive midfielder Kristjan Asllani (POT 85), as he can take over from Brozovic in years to come.

Transfer Market

Starting budget: £85 million

Who should go?

Despite owning a number of top young players, the Inter squad still holds several ageing pros who can be shown the door in order to generate funds for future signings.

First of all, experienced centre-back Stefan de Vrij (OVR 84) will only be declining in quality and value over the next few seasons.

IT'S TIME TO GO - De Vrij's Inter career has run its course

The Dutch defender can be sold in order to generate £35 million for future sales.

The sales of the ageing Edin Dzeko (OVR 84), Francesco Acerbi (OVR 82), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (OVR 81), Danilo D'Ambrosio (OVR 78) and Matteo Darmian (OVR 80) can increase the transfer budget by roughly £60 million.

Loans

The Inter Milan squad has ample depth, meaning there are a number of youngsters who can be sent out on loan.

You should look to offer 19-year-old Italian defenders Alessandro Fontanarosa (POT 84) and Raoul Bellanova (POT 82) regular minutes elsewhere in order to fast-track their journeys to the first XI.

Teenager Mattia Zanotti (POT 81) would also benefit from a loan spell as he can grow by a whopping fifteen overall points.

Who to Sign

New transfer budget: £180 million

Star Striker

With Romelu Lukaku set to leave the club at the end of his loan spell from Chelsea, you'll need a new main man up front to net the goals for the team.

Board Expectations

There are two critical expectations from the board that you must make a priority - Brand Exposure and Domestic Success.

Youth Development is a high priority, so you'll need to make sure you stay on top of this too.

Continental Success is another high priority, so you will need to reach the later stages of the Champions League with the aim to win the competition.

With all that going on, it's lucky the Financial target is of very low priority in FIFA 23.
