FIFA 23 Ultimate Team fans have grown accustomed to the many errors that happen throughout the game, with yet another one coming as part of the new FUT Champs rewards.
Now we are in a post-Team of the Season stage of the cycle, the FUT Champions Finals prizes were updated to include TOTS player picks and packs.
However, things couldn't run so smoothly, with incorrect red items issued. Check out the latest about the FUT Champs Red item error in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team below.
FUT Champs Tradeable Red Items
It was initially reported on socials that FUT Champs Red Picks were tradeable after the updated rewards were released on Friday, 16 June at 3am ET / 8am BST.
However, this wasn't right, with it actually being the items from the TOTS Packs that were giving out tradeable FUT Champions Red items.
This led to the market being flooded with red cards, with many players viewing them as a nicer design and therefore willing to pay more of a premium for them!
With the updated rewards, if you finish at Rank 4 in FUT Champions Finals you will earn a 3x 91+ EFIGS/Minor League TOTS Players Pack and at Rank 3 or above it will be a 3x 91+ EFIGSS TOTS Players Pack, both released as tradeable.
However, it seems that these packs either weren't supposed to issue tradeable rewards or weren't meant to come as FUT Champions TOTS Red items.
Compensation Coming
The error was live in-game for just over three hours before EA stepped in to address it.
Via the FIFA Direct Communication Twitter account, they issued a statement saying:
We have addressed an issue with FUT Champions Rewards where 91+ EFIGS 3 TOTS PLAYERS and 91+ EFIGS/MINOR LEAGUE TOTS 3 PLAYERS packs included incorrect rewards and have need removed from the game.
At the time of writing, those player packs have now been removed from the FUT Champs rewards, without being replaced.
The Tweet also said that impacted players will receive corrected rewards over the coming days.
This will annoy some in the community, as those players actually gained better rewards than EA intended, and will now receive correct rewards on top of that.
However, EA needs to give out this compensation as it is what was advertised.
How Many Wins Needed for Each Rank
There were no changes in the update to FUT Champions in regards to how many points you gain for a win or a loss, or how many points are needed to hit the different ranks.
A win will get you four points, a loss one, so it is important to know how well you need to do to gain the rank you want, and therefore get the rewards you are after!
The following shows the minimum number of wins needed for each rank in FUT Champions Finals if you play the full 20 matches:
- Rank 1: 19 Wins (76-80 points)
- Rank 2: 18 Wins (72-75 points)
- Rank 3: 16 Wins (67-71 points)
- Rank 4: 14 Wins (60-66 points)
- Rank 5: 11 Wins (51-59 points)
- Rank 6: 9 Wins (45-50 points)
- Rank 7: 6 Wins (36-44 points)
- Rank 8: 2 Wins (24-35 points)
- Rank 9: 0 Wins (12-23 points)
- Rank 10: 0 Wins (4-11 points)
