MLB The Show 22 continues to deliver rewards as the next Ranked Season 5 reward has been revealed as 98 OVR Cody Bellinger.

Along with that, we have the debut of the 99 OVR David Ortiz card that you can earn in Diamond Dynasty.

With the new Ranked Season 5 reward came the new 99 OVR David Ortiz card that you can pick up in MLB The Show 22.

IT'S SHOH-TIME: Shohei Ohtani is officially the MLB The Show 22 cover athlete

It is finally here, and now fans all over the globe can pick up their bats and take a swing at the new game from San Diego Studios.

Just like we saw with MLB The Show 21, MLB The Show 22 will also hit Xbox Game Pass on Day One, which remains a huge bonus for Xbox players.

Cover Athlete & Trailer Revealed

We've learned the official MLB The Show 22 cover athlete will be none other than Shohei Ohtani, and in reality there was no other choice.

At just 27-years-old, Shohei Ohtani put on a year for the ages in 2021 by finishing the season as an All-Star, All-MLB First Team, AP Athlete of the Year, and American League MVP.

He also won the Silver Slugger Award, Edgar Martinez Award, and Commissioner's Historic Achievement Award, further solidifying him as the biggest superstar in baseball today.

This very first trailer focuses entirely on the reveal of Shohei Ohtani, and it highlights some of what has made his career so special and why he's earned this honor.

Platforms, Price & Editions

MLB The Show 22 will be available to more gamers than ever before this year as it hits five different platforms across three gaming console families.

MLB The Show 22 will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. This is the very first time they've been on a Nintendo platform, and only the second year the game has not been a PlayStation exclusive.

MAKE YOUR PICK: MLB The Show 22 will be on five different platforms at launch

We expect to have an MVP Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition in addition to the Standard Edition of MLB The Show 22, as they've been mentioned as including both the current gen and next gen versions of the game, but we don't know further details yet.

MLB The Show 22 Standard Edition will be $59.99 on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, but it will be $69.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

For players who purchase the digital version of the game on PS4 or Xbox One, they'll be able to spend $10 at a later time for a digital upgrade to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

Gameplay, Game Modes & New Features

One of the big questions every year with each installment of a mainstream sports game franchise is simply "what is new," and there's no shortage of answers for MLB The Show 22.

Franchise Mode, March to October, and Road to the Show are all getting their own improvements this year.

Gameplay continues to be enhanced with tweaks to hitting and pitching as well as the addition of fielding to Custom Practice.

This is also the first year the franchise lands on Nintendo Switch, and it gets online co-op for the first time.
