British racing's most valuable meet is back this week as Royal Ascot 2022 begins with day one on Tuesday, June 15th.

Royal Ascot 2022 will play host to 35 races across the five days of the festival, including eight Group 1 races. RealSport101 is here to guide you through the week's action on a day-by-day basis.

With day one containing the much-anticipated Queen Anne Stakes, King's Stand Stakes and St James's Palace Stakes, here are our day one predictions for the 2022 Royal Ascot.

2.30pm: Queen Anne Stakes

Prediction: Baaeed

The opening race of the 2022 Royal Ascot festival sees one of the most anticipated horses of this year's festival take to the course as unbeaten miler Baaeed goes in pursuit of the Queen Anne Stakes.

William Haggas' four-year-old Thoroughbred has won seven from seven on flat ground since debuting at Leicester last June and heads into Royal Ascot with plenty of pedigree.

Seven of the last 12 winners of the Queen Anne Stakes had previously won at Group 1 level, but Baaeed heads into this race with three G1 wins to its name, including a win at the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2021.

Baaeed is already being heavily backed and with major contender Master Of The Seas withdrawn by trainer Charlie Appleby, looks a strong shout to take victory in the opening race of the week.

3.05pm: Coventry Stakes

Prediction: Persian Force

While the market points towards Blackbeard as the one to beat at the Coventry Stakes, I'm looking at Persian Force for my selection.

The form guides are often telling ahead of the Coventry Stakes with nine of the last ten winners having won last time out and Persian Force has won on both of his two previous outings, taking victory at Newbury from favourite and winning at Doncaster earlier this season.

3.40pm: King's Stand Stakes

Prediction: King's Lynn

Golden Pal's three-race winning streak has attracted plenty of attention at the ante-post for the King's Stand Stakes, but the form of King's Lynn is also eye-catching ahead of Tuesday's 5-furlong race.

Andrew Balding's mare has recorded two wins and two second-place finishes from the last four outings since David Probert took over jockey duties from Oisin Murphy.

All eyes will be on America's Golden Pal and Australia's Nature Strip ahead of the King's Stand Stakes, but Queen Elizabeth's King's Lynn has been effective over both five and six furlongs this season and will pose a threat.

4.20pm: St James's Palace Stakes

Prediction: Coroebus

Charlie Appleby has put much-loved colt Coroebus forward for the St. James's Palace Stakes on Tuesday. The 3-year-old is unlucky not to be unbeaten over four 1m trips to date and heads to Ascot with plenty of pedigree after beating out Native Trail to win the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket back in April.

The only major competition for Coroebus looks to come from the William Haggas stable with thrice-raced colt My Prospero well fancied and the unbeaten Maljoom looking to cause an upset from third favourite.

5.00pm: Ascot Stakes Handicap

Prediction: Arcadian Sunrise

John Queally's experienced Arcadian Sunrise heads into the Ascot Stakes with four wins from eight hurdles runs and will fancy a shot at royal meeting victory this week if the going remains good.

Victories over similar distances at Galway and York give reason to believe that Queally's gelding could challenge Willie Mullins' fancied Bring On The Night.

Mullins' entry will be hard to beat. The Mullins x Ryan Moore partnership has produced winners in three of the last ten Ascot Stakes Handicap races, but Arcadian Sunrise will pose a threat.

5.35pm: Wolferton Stakes

Prediction: Cadillac

In a mixed field, I'm looking to Addeybb for the Wolferton Stakes. William Haggas' entry won this very race, albeit on softer ground, back in 2019 and is proven at Ascot over this distance, taking three career victories at this course and boasting seven career victories over this distance. However, I'm looking to Cadillac after Addeybb was withdrawn from the running.

This is a strong field but Cadillac looks most convincing, having won convincingly in his last outing at Listed. A stall three draw is a favourable one and although he does have the blinkers on for the Copper Horse Stakes, a strong pace is expected and that will play into Cadillac's hands.

6.10pm: Copper Horse Stakes

Prediction: Juan De Montalban

Willie Mullins' Bring On The Night and A P O'Brien's Cleveland have both attracted plenty of interest at the ante-post, and Postileo looked a good initial price before being withdrawn from the running.

Juan De Montalban has been well-fancied heading into this race having won three times on good and heavy ground over similar distance. Recent form also plays into the hands of K P De Foy's entry following a convincing win here just last month over 1m4f.
