Back in 2012, PUMA announced it was partnering with Munich-based car manufacturer BMW to create racewear; however, we are now seeing the collaboration transition over to football with the upcoming debut of the PUMA x BMW ULTRA 1.4 boots.
With that being said, this isn't the first time we've seen the two worlds collide because, back in 2014, PUMA released a red evoSPEED collaboration with BMW's M Sport division much like the new ULTRA boots.
With that being said, here's everything we know so far about the upcoming release.
PUMA x BMW ULTRA 1.4 Release Date
As of right now, the release date for these ULTRA boots is unknown.
However, reports suggest that they're due to arrive in 2022, with May looking the most likely date given it's the 50th anniversary of BMW's M Motorsport division.
This is yet to be confirmed by either brand though, so make sure you come back as we'll keep you updated when more news is announced.
PUMA x BMW ULTRA 1.4 Leaks And Design
Our first look at these boots comes courtesy of Footy Headline who has leaked images of the BMW M Motorsport aesthetic.
Across the white ULTRACut upper, you get hints of blue, red, and navy to match the 'M' emblem, plus an abstract design across the toebox that closely resembles the BMW logo.
You also get BMW M Motorsport branding on the lateral side, while 'ULTRA' is written in navy blue along the front medial side plus the insole.
On the heel counter, you'll find the PUMA logo dressed in red which ties both the car manufacturer and sports brand together.
In terms of performance, you get Pebax technology underfoot which comes infused with running spike DNA to help improve acceleration on the pitch, making these boots a great option to consider if you're a winger.
PUMA x BMW ULTRA 1.4 Price
Without an official listing, it's hard to predict exactly how much this PUMA x BMW collaboration will cost.
However, based on previous releases and recent reports, it's predicted that a men's pair will retail for around £180, with stock expected to be limited.
As with most football boot releases though, it's likely we'll see cheaper variations debut alongside the top-of-the-range model.
